Figured it was time to show mine. It's a 2012 Access Cab SR5 4X4 V6 6-speed manual with not much else besides the tow package, rubber floor mats, and the front skidplate. I bought it October 8th, and I've done a few things to it since then:

    - shortened the front mudflaps by 3 inches
    - swapped the stock steel wheels for Pro Comp 7031 alloys in 16X8 size
    - wrapped the new wheels in General Grabber AT2 tires, size 265/70R16. I chose those because they are a stock Tacoma size, they are rated very well on TireRack, and they've got the Mountain/Snowflake symbol...short of going with a full winter tire, tires with the mountain/snowflake work great in snow & ice.
    - Had an ARE MX topper put on. It's lined, and has the front flip-down & slider combo...great for being able to wash the windows.
    - put in a full bedrug in back

I did a little "pay it forward" with the stock wheels & tires and found someone who needed them. I'm just happy that someone is getting some use out of them rather than them sitting in a landfill or in my garage.

Here's how it looked when I brought it home:

With the new wheels & tires installed, and front mudflaps trimmed:

And three shots with the topper on:

I'm thinking that next up I need to plasti-dip the emblems on the side and rear...I'll probably do that this weekend if I have time. I might plasti-dip the chrome part of the grille and rear bumper, but will make a decision on that after I see what it looks like with the emblems blacked out. Then I need to get some durable non-neoprene seat covers (don't like how the wet okole's fade), and build a dog platform in the back seat. If I get around to it, I may replace the stereo speakers, but that's pretty low on my priorities list.

The intent with all this is to have a vehicle for next spring that I'll be able to take all around the US, and possibly up through Canada into Alaska...do some camping, visit the friends I've got that are scattered all over the US and Canada, and scout out places that I'd like to live next. I'm changing careers next spring, and want to take several months off between jobs so I can travel, do some job hunting, and figure out where I'd like to live.

Check out Marathon Seat Covers. I just threw on a set on my front seats today and overall they are pretty good. Way cheaper than Wet Okoles and almost like a seatbelt type material except coarser.

Thanks...I'll take a look at them. I just want something that's like a ballistic nylon type of material...tough, fade resistant, and easy to clean. Wet Okoles are nice and I'd probably spring for those, but I've had them before and they tend to fade quite a bit, even when using their UV protector.

Thanks! I stole some ideas from 4Wheeling4Banger and his build thread, just because I like how his truck has turned out. I didn't copy his exactly and I won't do everything that he's done (no lift for me), but put my own twist on some of what he's done to suit me and my needs & wants.

Glad I could give you some ideas. So when are you going to plastiderp the fenders?

Heres a pic of my 2012. I just got this ARE cx model cap put on. Other than that, the only thing done is I blacked out my badges.

Not sure that I will. I know I want to do the badges, then I'll think about using it on the grille and rear bumper. Then I'll think about the fenders. I don't want to do it all at once...I'd rather let each change sink in for a few days or weeks before deciding what to do next.

I was kidding about plastiderping the fenders. I'm thinking about doing it like TACODOC1 did with bedliner. I like what he did with his Taco, it's one of my favorites. TACODOC's 2005 Tacoma Build([IMG]1 2 3)

I am about to go with a rear plate bumper. How do you like yours?
I thought I would just toss the spare in the bed(strapped down) when I 4 wheel and leave it at home otherwise. I have AAA.

Love it more functionality then anyting. Not the most pretty thing but it works. I feel sorry for the person who run into my bumper that is for sure. The reason why i got it is, I have had 3 hit and run on my bumper. I have AAA two but it more for trails then anything. I got the rear done for 650.
