The torque in the engine is improved significantly and youll definitly feel it when you drive it if you get on it. I bought the sc mainly for the torque when i tow or haul. Going on inclines at highway speeds youll notice the torque vs a naturally aspirated engine it has to downshift and keep the rpms high to maintain speed, with the SC it maintains speed without downshifting and keeping the rpms low thus making the engine more efficent at highway speeds.
On my previous tacoma it was an 05 with 120,000mi before I installed the SC and everything was fine until I totaled it and bought an '11. I see no problem installing a sc at that milage as long as its maintained well.

    Thanks Gincoma.

Has anyone done the installation themselves? I know it's impossible to quantify mechanical knowledge over the Internet, but I'm wondering if this is the type of job that NOBODY attempts at home. Or is it within reason for a home-mechanic?

Aside from getting the ECU flashed ($100 at the dealer IIRC) it's pretty much an intense bolt-on mod, installation:

While there isn't such thing as too much power, I can't justify a SC because I personally don't drive like I need one. I think the stock truck has plenty of power around town and on the highway for my needs. It's plenty fast and goes up the Mountains where I live just fine. I'm even a little on the lead foot side. I also don't want to have my mileage go down and have to purchase premium fuel. I'm not saying that it wouldn't be fun in an occasional situation it's just that for me the pros don't out weight the cons.

I'm probably older and more mellow then many younger drivers here and beating another vehicle off the line isn't important to me at all.

I drive like a grandma, I guess we can all live without the SC but I paid off my truck so I was like what the hell Ill go for it and havent regreted it since. Once in a while I will get on it and feel me get pushed back in the seat. I have to purchase premium fuel but 70% of my driving is highway and I get better MPG on highway vs stock. I can get between 22-23 mpg @ 65-70 mph. Its obvious Im pro SC :D

Same here. It wasn't a difficult install and I rather enjoyed doing it myself (with a little help from my bro).

Is it worth $3,900.00? Probable not, but it sure is fun to drive. Would I do it again? Yes.

Exactly i enjoyed it to...the hardest part was taking the crank bolt off its about 200 lbs/torque. I had to use the starter to get it off.

It is a sick truck though, but I don't think there's any bolt on turbo kits for our 1GR-FE... Takes a lot of custom fab. 475RWHP

I didn't feel comfortable trying the bump start method to loosen it.

A ratchet strap through the crank pulley and to the frame. 1/2" breaker bar with a piece of pipe over the bar and BINGO!!

If youre still in warrenty i would the the trd supercharger. If out of it, then a urd super charger would still be good.
also how come people dont get their ecu tuned after they get the super on? Wouldnt it lean out the motor to shit?
