I'm looking at a new Tacoma from the dealer with a 3" Pro Comp lift and Pro Comp tires and wheels. As a newbe to lifted trucks was hoping to get some feed back from those in the know.
I'ts a great looking set up but is this a good way to go?

depends. What do you want to do with the truck? If its a street queen then its fine. IMO. You wont be jumping that badboy though.

There are members here that do have them and offroad with them. It is not by any means a expensive set up though. Think about it this way, If you are cool with just having the height its fine. If you want to do any really serious off roading I personally would ditch the setup. But you have to also consider what type of off trail use you are going for. Its fone for trail riding, nothing to serious though. If you want to get air, you will regret it with that kit.

first off, welcome to TW :)

pro comp lifts are generally good lift kits, albeit overpriced and you can probably find a better deal if you wanted to do a lift/wheel setup on a stock truck; but if you're looking to get a truck already lifted with wheels/tires then if the price is right, go for it IMO..

Won't be doing any jumping or even anything real hard core. Most likely off road trails, camping that sort of thing. Some light water crossings jeep trails ... so won't be drive way jewerly but not baja stuff.

Hey there northern, where in the Bay Area are you? I'm in the east bay, there are a ton of members up here, scoot on over to the NorCal spotted thread and introduce yourself. If you are free on Saturday the 17th, you should drop by to our meet and greet, you can meet a whole bunch of members and you can check out our trucks and ask all the questions you like. Nice truck BTW, I have a feeling we'd love to check out your truck too!
