    Everything Kevin from ATO did on his... and then some. LOL
    So I picked up another toy last night... A 99 Limited. It was coming down cloudcroft in rain when he decided to take a take a short cut down the mtn! I picked it up at the tow place and with a little creativity and help from a friend, I was able to drive it to work! OMG it smoked for over a hr from all the oil that seeped thru the engine, but hell, it drives pretty straight for a rolled truck! I bought it for parts originally, but idk, I might just start cutting into it and making it a truck to wheel in! What do you guys think? Its got 212k mi on it, it has the factory E locker and everything!

    I'm curious if 5100's work on 4r's I'm not sure if i have overlooked the answer to my question any help would be great. The back will need spacers/taller springs, but i think its time for new shocks and everyone talks about how great they are on the tacomas i would like to use them on the 4runner and gain a little lift

    What gen is your 4r? Yes the 5100s will work. Search on t4r.org. Lots of people over there have em.

    He's got an 02' per his vehicle info box. He did the same thing I did, sold an 01 prerunner for an 02 4runner 4x4!

    The 5100s that 3rd gens use is the exact same one 1st gen tacos use. So it's known to ride a bit soft compared to how it feels on tacos..

    This is correct, the tacoma wasnt too family friendly and good excuse to get a 4x4. I did a spacer lift on the tacoma and it was horrible, dont want too make the same mistake on the 4r!

    Broke mine today.
    Getting a horrible thud-thud noise at slow speed that turns into a very bad shake at highway speed. Drove it the 10mi home after it started making the noise, will probably try to start taking it apart and diagnosing tomorrow.
    Initial thoughts are a bad U joint or double cardan, or a shot pinion bearing.

    This was earlier in the day, good thing I got back down the mountain at least.
