That sounds good to me...as long as you're not bored of TSF yet.

Is there snow down there yet? That would make it more interesting.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Tillamook State Forest in OR. It's the local favorite for the OR group, I've only been there once, but there's quite a few trails and options for all sorts of skill levels and interests.

Haven't looked into Walker Valley...It is about the same distance as TSF (for me) if not closer. One thing I read about it kinda scares me away:

    From NWJeepn.com (map:http://www.nwjeepn.com/Maps/walkerValley.pdf):

"Recommendations: Short wheelbase rigs with 33”-36” tires seem to do ok here but because of the narrow spots between trees, and switchbacks that require even a Sammy to make a three point turn, a full size vehicle will not have any fun at all, assuming that it could negotiate the initial hill climb in the first place. Now please, if you’re a full size owner, don’t take this as a challenge and try to prove me wrong as all you’ll accomplish is damage to your vehicle, a lengthy recovery effort and a lot of irritated drivers."

How was your experience out there Alan?

As long as I'm not doing Cedar to University FP, I'd be glad to go. I'm going to be in Salem all that weekend so I've definitely got the ability. I want to reserve Friday for the family, otherwise I'd be going with the FJC guys.

There's a few lesser used trails I'd like to try, but mainly in the dry since they would provide too much a challenge in wet. if there's snow, we definitely have to plan it out so I don't send another 4Runner down a slalom. ;)

I am totally down. I will check with the missus to make sure I'm not being too hasty. Anyone else down for a over-nighter in TSF? Will probably head down early Saturday, and camp at Browns.

As far as other local trails go:

Moe, can we add this to the OP so we can refer to it as needed: http://www.nwjeepn.com/WAtrails.htm

I would be down for a meet relatively locally. Probably not a wheeling trip or anything as i'm 100% stock.

Also Walker Valley has some trails that would be doable without any radical modifications. Some of the trails are kinda tight but nothing too extreme. I'm not sure what those jeep guys are talking about for tire size. Me and some of my buddies run our Subarus out on the trails without too much trouble. Depends on the trail too.

    I'm all-in for Dec 02nd.
Evans Creek / Surprise Lake - Sounds great
Elbe (guaranteed damage I hear) - doesn't sound friendly for my DCLB
Tinkham Exploration - not much to explore any more
    Liberty - Sounds great
    TSF camping trip
Naches camping trip - might be a bit chilly but a good option

Also let's think about some of the stuff around Mt. Baker. I've been researching a bit on a couple trails in that area...

I like the walker valley trip. A little north but seems fun. Maybe have some elevation climbs available! And I'm in for the 2nd. I'll be road tripping south for thanksgiving. Hopefully have my bumper on before the trip too!

Anyone have any extra winch cable or rope for sale?

I think we've narrowed down the options:
Evans Creek/Surprise Lake (1.5 hour drive)
    Walker Valley (2.5 hour drive)
    Liberty (2.5 hour drive)
    Naches (West closed today :()

Any of the 3 sound good to me, but I'm sure the weather will play a big role too.

No on the extra winch line. Mike might still have his cable though :notsure:

How far south are gonna be? Mike and I are planning on doing some trails @ TSF on the 24th and possibly the 25th.
