    Skid is off, only the back piece was wet, the front half was dry. No visible leaks up front. There was a little crystalized coolant above the point where the main line runs from the rad into the block but nothing fresh/wet - sort of tucked behind the oil dipstick.

    :notsure: let it run to get up to temp and nothing exciting happened. i tried to wipe up as much of the leaks as i could so i can see any fresh/new drips and puddles and left the skid off for now.

    Grab the butterfly with your hand and throttle it up a bit and see if the increased pressure causes it to visibly leak. May not work if you can't see the potential leak and reach the butterfly at the same time though... haha

    Could be the front of the head right by the hose too :eek: that would suck.

    Head gaskets seem to have to get fairly bad before they will show in the oil in my experience, although if it is so bad there is a leak then that is probably bad enough that it should have thrown up red flags during the last oil change I would think. Unless it was very sudden damage.

    Wouldn't it just depend on whatever color of coolant you put in? I've never really paid attention to if there are differences in different colors actually...

    im my experiance when theres a random puddle and you cant get it to leak again the water pump seal will do that. The water pump will piddle off preasure and temperature change. one things for sure it's it's the water pump it's gonna do it again. just wait for that cold night. but no worries Water pump jobs are easy to do.

    That lower arrow points to the thermostat, so the thermostat gasket is probly blown.


    There is NO reason your HG would be leaking...
