Does the 3.7 have fuel filters outside of the tank? Like one in the engine bay? I know the older engines did, but not sure if they kept one in the bay during the 90's

Its the simple things before getting to the fuel tank, especially since you have a full tank of gas!

Well ya but im sure even a little filter cost more than i wana waste if i dont need it ya know :) Hey since were in this topic, i noticed my plugs have a contraption on each one. Is that a coil for each one or what? and is the process changing the plugs the same or more complicated?

    With the 3.4 I can't comment since I haven't had one.

Not to be a dick. But, what do you plan on jacking off of on the truck. You don't have any armor or solid steel within reach of the Hi-lift.. Just saying

Maybe go get a bottle of gas dryer (heat is my preference), we got a lot wetter here in the last month and now its getting colder, that in combination of ethanol added to the fuel, you could have water condensing in the tank, then you get your hard start in the evening when your tank is going on empty, perfect storm almost. My father all ways used the stuff in his little for courier for years. Lots cheaper than dropping the tank, replacing the fuel filter plus you should have a full tank to use it. Good luck, let us know what the diagnosis comes out to be. Cheers.

The things on the top of your spark plugs I would assume are coil packs for your spark, just have to get the procedure to remove them to get to the plugs ( should be s thread somewhere on this site or chiltons or Haynes will have it too). Should be pretty easy depending on your experience with doing maintenance on your truck.

So anyone local want to take a ride with me real quick over the weekend to help me pin point/guess where/what they think the noise is coming from my truck? I thought maybe it was carrier bearing so I google'd it and mine doesn't sound like that..thought it was wheel bearings next..nope! *ahem jason*

Mike, wish you were local still :(

I've got about the same exact noise in mine at the moment too... Im thinking it may be drivetrain/bearing related. WTF? Maybe there's some angry gremlins running around the PNW at night...

You should try to drive around with Pete from Gitout. He strikes me as a pretty good gearhead.

My noise started out as if there was a leak on the windshield and air was coming in, bearable. Now I can hear it pretty bad and for sure it's coming from the rear somewhere. I get up to highway speeds and when I release the gas pedal I can hear it whining down, once the gas pedal is pressed on I can hear is howling faster

Is he? I've only met the guy once, briefly and wouldn't fee really comfortable. I guess I can always PM him over on his forum, thanks!
