Oh cool, that's pretty cheap. I keep seeing people with these added to their truck. What are you doing with the baffles?

    oops

i just drilled two holes and used the bracket that came with the can. it's not the sturdiest bracket, but i figured i'd give it a try. if it breaks, i'll make a mount out of some heavier steel.

spent the morning with a buddy painting his wheels. turned out good. he did the grill (used to be chrome) last night. still have to bedline his rear bumper, and black his headlights. he also just ordered lamin-x for his fogs.

    Update on the trailer:
-spring mounts are almost done. got them to the point that they are load bearing, they just aren't fully welded yet.
    -made some aluminum spring retainers.
-welded in the forward crossmember that the front of the links will mount to (no pictures)

I put the adjustable spring colars and axle in place and jacket it up intil it started to lift the trailer off the jack stands. all pictures with the axle in it is will the springs under load.

I'll be adding a second spring inside each of the pictured springs, but those will be removed and replaced with the airbads in the future.

Next step is to secure the aluminum spring collars, and them cut/build the links and mounts themselves.

    spring retainers

old wheel in place to show the ride height. slightly larger 265/70/17 terra grapplers on 17'' FJ cruiser steel wheels will go on when done. i think i need bigger fenders....

Can you post some photos of how your bed rack mounts to the bed?

it's actually a pretty simple mounting. each of the 6 points of contact on the bed rails has a bolt going through it, and into a t-slot nut, in the factory track system that holds the cleats.

for lighter duty, this is all you need, but if you are going to have a roof top tent, other heavy load, or do any high speed wheeling, you sill need to anchor it to the frame in some way. I also have leaned my rack up against trees before, and without a frame tie-in, it would have potentially damaged the bed track.

you can see the tabs in this picture that go inside the bed, and get bolts through them
    [IMG]

the easiest way to tie it into the frame is through the bed bolts. start with a plate that the bolt can go though, like a giant washer....

you can then weld the braces in place.

you can see the bolts in this one where the rack legs are secured to the track system
    [IMG]

    hope this helps, Kevin :)
