Me too. A few years ago, a few times each year, I used to do 5 days in the back country solo on the cheap. I removed some seats from the double cab so I could sleep inside the cab. Free hard side camper! No need for hot water, find a hot spring or sponge bath- free! No need for expensive fridge, jet boil and mountain house for dinner, yum! Very low cost, much of the camping gear I already had from backpacking.

Fast forward a few years, now I have to run life support for four. Looking into fridge, on the cusp of acquiring parts for stand alone hot water. Probably duplicate what Bobb did. Just ordered the new design of the Kodiak 10x10 flex-bow tent, etc. Dual battery coming soon. :) Getting expensive in a hurry!

Spent the weekend at San Onofre beach with the fam. Knocked the dust off of the Jayco Baja (my wife's toy) and LOVED the way the truck tows with the new Demello rear bumper. Tongue weight seems to be perfect, nice flat tow and feels very stable at all speeds. Just like OEM ;)

Dave, great seeing your screen name in this thread. Kinda fits. I haven't been on expo in awhile. Your talk of a new bumper just sent me back to expo to your thread. Loving the new additions to the setup and even the new bumper. Built very specifically to your exact needs. Knowing my history with CBI and the fact that your old bumper was the reason my truck got cut 3 weeks after buying it, I do have to ask. Any problems with the old bumper or just an evolution of the vehicle to get the new bumper that is more specific to your needs? Really hoping to get more next summer. Between reading your build again and meeting Clay Croft at the gas station yesterday which made me go back and watch all his videos again I should be plenty motivated. Although time is the real issue, not motivation. But you can never have too much motivation.

The CBI bumper was great but I outgrew it for a few reasons, mainly space. I needed to be able to attach more stuff to it as you see. The option of water/fuel/bikes/tools/propane/table etc was needed especially since I added the FlipPac.

same here in the WY dessert. But this look like a nice deal. Much cheaper then an Awning..but an awning is installed easier..

would be nice to hang from my roof rack though.

this is great for a versitile, moveable patch of cover. it's definately no awning, but for $65 why not. i'm still looking forward to getting a large awning though.

I can vouch for the trail shade. Used it a few times and it's held up well. Would be better attached to a roof rack, but works well still on my tire.

your picture was pretty much the only photo i could find that wasn't a stock photo from smittybilt. I honestly thing smitty doesn't market these well. untill i really started looking, i didn't know they even made these. i thought i was limited to the rigid framed roll up awnings.
