My guess is you got used to the stock quiet ride then put used Duratracs on! HUGE difference. At one point I put my stock wheels / tires back on for a bit and same thing. I have about 10k on mine and they are a bit more noisy now. You'll soon acclimate to the noise. I peeked at your build thread - nice setup! That mtn pick is Mt Hood isn't it? (That's as dry as it gets) I've skied there a couple of times. I have a friend in Salem.

What made you go with the E instead of C?

I just swapped my BFG A/Ts out with a set of Duratracs a few days ago. I went with the same size (285) and load rating E. Honestly, I hear the very slightest bit of hum compared to the A/Ts, but its extremely minimal.... FAR less noise than when I ran M/Ts. I feel absolutely no wandering or vibration, so I guess I'm just lucky? The ride is a bit smoother than before, without a doubt. These tires look absolutely phenomenal and I'm very excited to see how they do with our looming CO winter!

Oh man, that looks so sick eltaco! I want your wheels! DTs are a hoot in the snow, unfortunately we've only only had one good snow in the 2.5 yrs I've had mine.

I freaking love mine. Snow, mud, wet pavement...doesn't matter. I have around 10K on them so far.

For the tread they have they are quite (in my opinion). Vibe? Haven't had an issue..

The vibe seems about 50/50 on TW. I really think my issue may be "one" bad apple. I've rebalanced x2, hub centric rings, multiple psi levels and everything I do helps a trace amount, but long interstate trips visiting with a passenger the condition does get maddening. DD trips are no biggy with tunes going.

    Haha! You got that right!

They were set at 37psi. Right now they feel perfect, but might run them up a bit higher based on what I'm reading here.

I was thinking around 40 is where I will start with mine. I am running Hankook ATMs in E at 40-45 and they have worn perfectly. I know they are different tires . . . but, should be a good place to start, they have worn very evenly, perfectly even in fact.

I'm right at 40psi too. So far, so good. I've been lazy and it's been wet quite a bit, so I haven't done a chalk test yet, but I should.

The ride is great, no vibes or shimmying. My last set had one that was hard to balance. Ended up spinning the tire 180* to get it to balance. I got almost 40k on them. All make good spares for the new set.

They impressed me again last night. Snowy/icy roads at 26*, only got puckered up once...black ice in traffic, cars all over the road. :censored: I grabbed the shoulder of the road with the pass. side tires, went to 4hi and all was well.:yay: Left it in 4 for the rest of the ride home!:humble:

I think I'll run them up to 40psi and give that a shot! Thanks for the info. Guess I'll just deal with the TPMS light.

Can anyone confirm that a 285 will fit in the spare tire compartment? Looks really tight on the stock 265, but Id love to have a full sized spare.

I just did the tpms delete. No more light. On my '06 it was quick, simple, and easy. I followed this write-up.

2 snipped wires, one to ground, all good!
