Washed the thing for first time in 6 months. Scraped off all the bugs and barnacles all nicelike, even cleaned the door jams and the WTs and all the inside glass. Fuckin opened the door to come to work and wallah, fuckin rain, all the way to work. Oh well, at least I warned the wife that it would be raining today since I washed the truck yesterday. Still sucks ass to not even get 1 day of fresh clean truck out of the deal. Guess I should start washing it more often and knock this damn drought down.

When I swapped my stock axle over to a TRD e-locker axle, I moved the auto adjusters all the way in and forgot to adjust them back out after everything, and I had a similar experience. Acted like there was air in the lines, despite the fact that I bled them about 8 times... Once I realized what I forgot and adjusted them back out, the brakes felt GREAT again.

Nope. To my knowledge, the truck is 100% stock. I will double check though. It could have happened before I bought it.

No. You need to add a relay. The Hella horns pull too much current for the stock wiring.

Installed my newly powder coated wheels, took OEM centercap, pried off toyota emblem, painted the centercap duplicolor black and reinstalled.

Also have a new Pioneer FH-x700BT (bluetooth) stereo from Crutchfield, rugged ridge floor mats, fog light modification, added "TOYOTA" grille emblem and waiting for my leather seat covers to arrive today. Tomorrow, installing addl bed "D" rings.

Looks Great!! How'd you mask off the Toyota symbol on the wheels? Been wanting to paint my centercaps...dang things are hard to get off. I feel like I'm gonna break something when i try to pry them off.

Turn them over, and you will see where they come through the cap. I used a dremel tool to barely skim off the excess where it came through the cap, then used a thin blade screw driver to push them through. After they are painted, I used 3-M emblem adhesive and a toothpick to apply a little behind the emblem and the tang that slips through the cap. After they were dry I turned them over and took my soldering iron and stippled the silver tab in an "/" shape to bed them into the cap. I gave them a pull and they are on for good. I figure if I ever had to paint them again, I would have to paint the entire cap, including the toyota symbol then use model car or touch up paint and hand brush paint the symbol - maybe in red.

Note: Use wet/dry 300 grit sand paper. Be careful to get all of the small grooves, especially around the lug nuts. The smoother your sanding will give you a smoother finish. Then I washed mine with dawn dishwashing soap (front and back with a used toothbrush) then flooded them with water in a bucket. Make sure they are perfectly dry, and do not touch with with a bare hand (oils from your skin will leave smudges in your finished product). Use the Duplicolor spray adhesion (2 light coats) with no sanding in between, and within 10 minutes put on your Dupli-color spray paint (2 light coats) The adhesion is about $8.00, the paint color is $8.00 and the final clear coat is $8.00 (Auto Zone). I used a thin wire in the emblem tab holes so that I could pick them up and turn them. I used a cardboard box on it's side as my "spray booth". I let them sit 24 hours before I handled them. I think the project turned out ok, and for $24.00 it was cheaper than hiring a paint shop. New TRD caps at my dealership cost $36.00, but these caps are custom. If your truck is red you could even paint them red. Since my wheels got powder coated the FJ Cruiser anthracite color, I thought the black looked good with the chrome lug nuts and steel valve stems.

Thanks, I've got stock wheels on my pre-runner so the symbol is just an impression. Will probably paint the whole cap Black. Thanks for the tips.

No, I cut the wire leading to the old horns and spliced it to new wire that I connected to the horns. Fairly simple installation, since our trucks use a 10A circuit for the horns and the supertone horns use 6.5A I opted to not use the included relay.

Here's an overview of the process, and the rest of the StopTech white papers are worth a read. I don't know if Toyota is pushing the "lifetime" service interval for brake fluid as some other manufacturers are, but I believe it's bunk. Environmental contamination, trapped gases, and wear particulates from the brake system accumulate and degrade the brake system. $10-$15 of brake fluid every two years is nothing compared to the cost of repairs.
