Yeah it was def. cold & starting to snow just a little on Laguna, fuckin' rangers locked the CDF 14S02 trail at both ends, but the one gate they locked that kinda pissed me off was the one that ends at Sunrise hwy, I mean I drove about 15 miles just to get to the locked gate that was about 20ft from main hwy, turn around & go back, oh well still fun to get out for a bit...

Still working out details. The route is depending on my buddy Ron, he's is very familar with pinyon mtn and which lines to take thru the squeeze and heart attack. He is not 100% going yet. If he can't make it I think I may be wise to pick another route down the mountain, maybe oriflame. I want everyone to get down pinyon mtn with little to no damage so I'm depending on him for that. We will still be able to do diablo and broken axle. Ill post up a solid plan as soon as I nail it down.

    Details about this Saturday run:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/so...ablo-fish-creek-run-sat-22nd.html#post6144194

Sorry it is not going to be as gnarly as run as I had hoped, trying to be wise about things. We will hit up the original planned run as soon as I can get it together with another one or two of my buddies that are more familar with Pinyon Mtn. I dont want to lead guys into that area and end up tearing up their shit. I have not been thru there in years and never in a second gen. I know we can do it, I just want to be sure we pick the best lines.

Fair enough Tyler, as for picking the best lines I'm sure you have enough experience/skills (as I hope I do also) to make that decision on site, we'll check it out, weigh the "pro's" & "cons" & formulate a "go" or "no go" decision, it'll be "aight" as Leo says...:D

You thinking hitting Oriflame from Banner, go thru the gate (& leaving it as we found it) exit on S-2 , I think that trail is about 14 miles one way IIRC

Ya, that's the plan, right of banner at the banner store then out on S2. Then back in the dirt ti we hit split mtn.

Sorry to disappoint on the pinyon mtn part. Trying to be responsible, I don't want anyone hurt or too much damage. It is a real threat on that route. I know we can do it i just think its wise to take a little more experience with us. I must be getting old.....

Oh I agree, common sense should always prevail , when i was taking in groups of prerunners & we'd hit a questionable area i'd always try it first in 2wd locked like the prerunners to make sure it was doable, as for myself when faced with a hairball type obstacle I've already evaluated & chosen my line of approach before a single wheel is placed (besides you can make a correction here & there where applicable)

Oh, watch the "I must be getting old" comments sonny.....:p:)

If any prerunner guys wanted to join to do the first part of the run down to S2 they could. It's a piece if cake and very scenic.
