Sick!!!! I'm located over near Clairmont, I dont mind driving to where you are though. I could pay too... i need to charge my rear 16's and possibly recharge my front... going to you would save me a lot of time/money/hassle!

 

No sweat, I will PM you my number. I have the gauge, and no loss chuck for precise filling.

 

I got all that stuff when I was trying to fill my C/Os on my heep, ended up getting a pretty sick setup I pieced together, the shops wanted far more than I was willing to pay, pretty much $10ish per fill...and I have 4 coilovers and 4 bumps....

Looks good! My setup isn't as pretty but it does the job, or will once they are filled to perfection! Gonna have a happy truck tomorrow

Hey guys!

Sooooo, I got laid off from Sacramento County today. My boss and his boss called me and the other 3 probationary new guys into his office and said they were gonna have to let us all go, and wouldn't specify a reason. I asked my boss on our way out, and he told me due to budget concerns and lack of work, they couldn't keep us. Called HR, they pretty much said the same thing.

So what this means is, I'm unemployed...BUT, The Wife is still down in San Diego, so I'm coming back and will be pursuing jobs down there at the beginning of the new year!

That also means, I need to hit a F'kn trail, something fierce! Haven't had a chance to do much while I was up here, was either with family or just bone tired every day and didn't feel like driving anywhere to offroad.

So if anyone cares to go hit a trail, the week of the first...let me know! I'm thinking a Pine valley run or something...I feel like getting stuck lol.

Need some Dirtbike help...

So I'm getting more and more comfortable on the bike but I still hate that I can't reach the ground hahaha. My mechanic suggested that I change my rear rim size from a 19' rim to a 18'rim to lower the bike.. What are the cons to running a smaller rear rim??

 

are you gonna keep the same OD tire or go 1'' smaller on the OD?

if you keep the OD you might get more "squish".
if you drop the OD you get a slightly lower top speed without regear, and the seat height would be 1/2'' lower.

 

I'd look into shaving your seat first first. Would be cheaper and easier than changing wheels/tires, or suspension.

Not gonna change a thing, most 18" tires have a higher profile. The pros to running an 18" wheel is just that, a higher profile, that helps when hitting rocks or square edged to help reduce pinch flats, and also allow a lower tire psi for better traction and contact patch..

You need a new mechanic (hint, hint), the way to lower a bike is with the suspension, either a lowering link in the rear and raise the forks in triple clamps, or do it the right way and have it properly lowered using internal shims to reduce travel by 1-2".

AND shave the seat as I have done an all my bikes as well, for another 1".

Btw Jason the drz isn't as tall as I thought so there's no need to shave the seat.
