I was considering buying something like that for my rigids when i got them, but for $20 and me getting the tool box, i could get that for my CB antenna.

EDIT: Cancel that idea, I am just going to relocate the mount i got from you when i install the Tool box at citrus.

toolboxes always seem to interfere with antennas......or they cause the antenna mount to dent your cab :bananadead:

I think i'm missing something......who are the people in the car?

Been noticing a decent bit of white smoke/steam (doesn't look thick enough to be "smoke") from the exhaust lately. Especially at night at traffic lights or fast food resturants when stopped. The thing is, it's usually at night (though I've noticed it a few times during the day now), and its been somewhat cold (mid 50s and lower) every time it happened. I'm just under 100K miles.

I've been reading it can be condensation from lots of short trips. The longest drive I make on a daily basis is 4.1 miles to work, so for the last year just about every single trip I've made is 4 miles or less. I've also been running gas from a Murphys (some new local gas station) lately and if I recall correctly that was about the same time I started noticing it. Just filled up with Shell premium earlier and notice the smoke/steam seems to have lessened quite a bit. I did drive a "longer" 15 mile trip the other day, perhaps that helped?

Any idea of anything I should look at or be concerned over? The truck itself doesn't seem to be driving funny or idling funny, I am almost due for an oil change but my oil looks good. I'm gonna have the truck in at Toyota in Jan for 100K service (anything specific aside from Tranny flush?), so I want to have them check everything I can think of while its there.

I wouldn't worry about it. probably just the cold. mine does it all of the time when i'm in VA for a few weeks each winter. if there was something wrong with the engine that was causing it, you'd peobably have already thrown a code.

Anytime a code is being thrown the CEL light should go on, yes?

Just hate the idea of anything being wrong with the Taco. I'm full time student and worker, I barely make it paycheck to paycheck, major repairs would completely screw me. Perhaps my paranoia is causing me to read into things that aren't there?

yep, light comes on when codes are thrown. if the truck is running fine and the engine light isn't on, blame the cold and keep on keepin on.

Excellent, exactly what I needed to hear.

And one more noob question, how does one go about cleaning the K&N air filter?

go to just about any autoparts store that sells K&N. they have a "recharge" kit. comes with 2 bottles, one is a cleaning agent, and the other is a re-oil spray. directions in the box are easy to follow.

I have them in the bolt on version
    With the kickout
They are super beefy, and heavy
    I highly recommend them
The fill plates are nice ... Helps keep mud off the doors , and gives a more secure place to step

    Install was a snap ... Took 2hrs ...
