Agreed, it looks nice but does it need a brace in the bend or is it strong enough to take an angled pull? Don't flame me- no idea what you made it out of or how you bent it so no idea how strong it is.

Its bent in a 150 ton Press brake then heat tempered. Its defiantly going to be the strongest with a straight on pull. An angled pull is going to put a lot of added stress on the bolts. As for the price I think its very fair. Its costs 11 bucks just to cross the boarder to ship it out(that's not including the shipping charge). I will also do a package deal for 260 plus shipping. Not to bad for a recovery hook and a skid plate. I would like it to be worth my time as well.

Why not utilize the third hole? Or provide an option for a shackle or more specifically a 3/4" shackle. 5/8ths shackles are a bit small.

i like that skid i got off you used it a bit this weekend. id like skids for the rest of the way back under the truck if your going to make them. the stock one that comes right after the plates you were making last month is all caved in..

edit add.. id buy a shackle mount if it was 3/4... im coming over to the mainland on the 13th i could swing by and pick one up for 40 bucks... and we could talk about more potential skids...

No, it looks like a nice product however I really have no need as of now. A shackle mount would be nice but I get by with the TRD OR hook and the strap, or my winch. Just thought I'd air/share my thoughts.

I'm not sure if the sr5/sports have the extra bolt there but I have a 3rd bolt on the OR hook. Shouldn't be hard to source a 10.9 bolt if not.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
I would give more consideration to buying one. 5/8 is too small. Likewise, I would prefer seeing gusseted 1/2" tempered plate (or bigger!), and utilizing as many stock mounting points as are available.
When it comes to recovery points, the most robust approach is best. Because if front recovery points are being used, it's highly unlikely the weight being pulled is merely the truck's scale weight -- think scale weight + rolling resistance + stuck material (i.e. mud) resistance + any impediment (i.e. large rock, or a hole caused by spinning tires trying to get unstuck) resistance. So instead of simply a ~5,000# strength requirement, the anchor point may be looking at upwards of a 20,000# strength requirement......or more. And it's best to build for double that......or more. And since we're talking anchor points, you want them to be the strongest link in the recovery system -- if something breaks, I would want it to be the strap or the cable, not what the strap or cable are attached to (thereby creating a missile).
If you could make something that has an 80,000# breaking point, and a 40,000# working limit, including all mounting, I would be all over it. And if you can sell it for sub-$100 shipped, you would prolly be able to sell them faster than you could make them. Something to think about!

Yes I am but I haven't made a HD one yet. I'm thinking the HD one would be around 140 with free shipping (120 if you have or purchased with a skid plate). The HD vision will utilize the third hole and be made out of 1/2 plate with it accepting the 3/4 shackle.

Is there a mounting point already there on the driver side to get one of these mounted on both sides?

& might I recommend - Shackles are easy to obtain locally, and heavy(ie more $) to ship. May I suggest, instead of the shackle an added value would be the longer mounting bolts required, of the required strength. Great products you have, and made in BC!

This only get bolted to the passenger side.

Thanks for the recommendations. I could knock 10 bucks off if someone didn't want it with a shackle. As for the longer bolts They wont be required. The 1/2 inch plate is only 1/4 inch bigger then the stock one.

This will definitely fit with the stock TRD skid plate.
