One of the members is a professional detailer. I think he has a sticky on detailing. See if you can fisnd the post and PM him. Mine was the same way, and the detail shop took some type of wax to it.

    Good luck!

Buying new is awesome, but you gotta have a lil beat-around daily driver to soak up most of your miles and parking lot door dings. New vehicles are mostly for sitting at home in the garage and coming out to play every once in a weekend.

Used daily drivers for the win. Now that I'm on the two car system, I can't imagine going back to one.

Yeah, I'm going to get some of that stuff, sounds like a great way to get the dust off without worrying about scratching it..

Unless the air moving the dust is enough to scratch it, which at this point would not suprise me..

I'm going to go check autozone tomorrow hopefully..

Haha thanks guys (i think??).. It's like I have super powers, I can post about anything and no matter how frivolous it is I seem to get a lot of responses.. :humble:
BUT, if I was a witch I'm pretty sure I would not have to worry about scratches on my truck..

Thats a great idea, thank you!

See.. if only I could afford two vehicles, this one is giving me enough hell. :p

Do yourself a favor and invest in some quality microfiber towels.

here is a link to one at Autogeek.

If you need instant gratification either Advanced Auto or Ricer Zone ahould have a Megs microfiber towel.

The ones at Wally World are cheap and only good for doing engine bays and wheels.

I had a T100 for over 10 years and never had a problem. I bought this 2009 Tacoma and made the "mistake" of using Windex. That blurred and scratched the lenses. The dealer wanted $89 to replace it. I brought it home and thought, what do I have to lose? I sprayed the lenses with Dura Lube and gently wiped it with a soft cloth. It removed the fog/scratches but does give it a slightly "wet" look. At least I can see the dials clearly.
At some point, I will replace it. I might be able to make one from Plexiglass.
I am finding that the quality of this Tacoma is not as good as the T100 that I traded in.

^^^ would be nice, but non-laminated shattered glass in crash tests would tend to increase the probable injury.

I offer another way to think around this situation: why treat that clear plastic any differently than your LCD computer monitor or flatscreen TV?

Easy way to train yourself to stay away from winter jackets/windex/whatever.

Maybe try the 3m headlight restore kit on it? I fixed some pretty nasty pitted dogs and made them look brand new w the kit! Should be easy on a cluster plastic! Or toothpaste
