LOL I know this, but my truck will see the dirt mainly in the spring/summer/fall...where she gets a bit dirty. I really dont venture out in the winter in the dirt just snow. Who said I couldnt have 2 sets of wheels haha...

Right but essentially the +15 offset pushes the center line of the wheel toward the outside of the truck. Whatever the case it was a thought...I might do the rear springs soon as one side is sagging for some odd reason. I want to go with All Pro extra heavy rear leafs but dont want a 3" lift...I normally go camping and or riding so I need the springs to be able to handle extra weight.

Correct BFG and others say 6.5"-8"

The Dakars I can take out one of the leaf packs to get a lower lift...I wonder how much it effects the load bearing capacity. I have looked in to them.

Take out the top overload or the 3rd leaf down from the top

You can always get the wheels/tires and then figure out the lift later. I'm still "figuring it out" after having them on for 20k. I cut a good bit of plastic, but don't rub enough to force a lift atm.

I'm running FJ trail team's btw

Not me. I run two sets
The stock Dungflops until they wear out for on road & the 255/85/16 BFG KM2s off road.
I got the KM2s on now & am heading out in a few hours to hit the mud & snow covered trails with a guy from work and some local TWers.

That is my thought!!! I was thinking of doing the same thing.

This is good to know I might have to take some measurements and figure myself out! Thanks for the good info!

Well I have to report I spun my tires for the first time on Saturday.
I was leading the way up a mountain through virgin snow. The snow wasn't bad on the open flat spots but the uphill spots were 1' to 2' deep. The good news is that the 265s, 285s, 33"x12.5"s & 35"s behind me were also having problems. I lead up to 7400ft and at that point I sugested that a locked V6 would make a better snowplow/lead than my 4banger open/open. When Jason took the lead up to 7900ft and I was 3rd in line I had no problems.
The pics of mine don't show what we were going through because I was leading and picked a good spot to stop. Not much snow on the open flat spots but the uphills were a different story. You can see in some of the other pics some of what we were dealing with. We got up over 7900ft.

You can see in the pics above that Bob & Max are in over 1' of snow.
No I didn't stop in 1' to 2' of snow and whip out a yardstick.
The smallest tire there was 32" the largest was 35" so when 1/2 the tire/wheel is below the surface you are in 16" to 17.5".

That is Sean's a friend of Sam (Squirrel cage) it's got a 22RE. I don't think he's a member yet. He also has a '13 4x4 stock Taco and made the right decision not to bring it. If he only would have aired down he wouldn't have had to turn around and wait for us.

Icon MT suspension, Pelfreybuilt front bumper, Relentless skids, Avid sliders, Avid custom rack. Pelfreybilt HC Rear bumper.
On wheel width for the 255/85R16 tire.
Several pages back there are photos of this size tire on 8" wide wheels and the rim part of the wheel takes a beating when wheeling in rocky terrain, some 8" wheels seem to show more rim than other 8" wide wheels. On the BFG site the specifications for this size tire are for it to be mounted on wheels from 6.5" to 8" wide, so while 8" is in spec it is at the limit and MIGHT be prone to popping off the bead if aired down where on a narrower wheel you MIGHT be safer at the same low pressure.

So someone suggested I ask about Konig making their Oversteer wheel (presently only in 16 x 8") in a 7" width. So I found a seller here on TW that is offering the 16 x 8 wheel in various colors. I replied (in his thread) asking if he could get Konig to make up these wheels in 16 x 7" and how many sets would have to be ordered for Konig to consider a "custom build" in this narrower width. Would it take 4 sets or 10 sets (40 wheels total).

    Edited to add:
Well, he replied back... We would need to get 120 wheel demand and it will require a new "mold" for a new size thus the 120 wheel estimation. I posted a link to this thread so that he may see the interest, but 120 is a good bunch of wheels for basically a narrow group of folks. We will see....
