OnSunday December 17, 2012, 2 days after the CT shooting, a man went to arestaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, most ofthe people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followedthem and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shootingand people in the theater started running and screaming. It’s like the Aurora,CO theater story plus a restaurant!

Now aren't you wondering why this isn't a lead story inthe national media along with the school shooting?

There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHEpulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to killanyone. So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a badperson with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like itnever happened.

Only the local media covered it. The city is giving hera medal next week.

The moral of this article is more good guys need to carry guns!! So if the Government wants to take my gun away, They are gonna have to pry it from my cold dead hand ! ! !

For fucks sake will people stop with this prying my guns from my cold dead hands crap. No one is taking guns away.

Also, this has nothing to do with gun control or the CT incident. Stuff like this happens all the time. Why WOULD it be national news? Is every murder in every city national news? No. You're really questioning why a mass murder of children (or of people in a movie theater or whatever) makes news over one person stopping an armed person.

Last year, before this shooting, before Aurora, we had an armed man locally go into a bank and pull a firearm when the robbery attempt started to go south and an off duty police SGT there on his day off pulled out his weapon and shot him. That didn't make national news, nor would I expect it to.

I really don't know what this adds to either side of the argument. We're not talking about some random citizen who was allowed to CCW in this area. We're talking a trained deputy who was working security on her day off at the theater. Not to take anything away from her actions as she undoubtedly saved lives and should get all the awards and medals the city wants to give her.

Bad story that makes a good point. IMO, the media (and education system etc) have an agenda...the story you make note of fails to promote it.

    No...

Below is a quote you may or may not have read (I'm guess not). If your interpretation of the following words (shall, not, be & infringed) are the same as mine you SHOULD have a problem with our POS "leaders" too.

"the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed"

I really don't see how any new (or old) restriction on what firearm one can buy is NOT an infringement...and therefore, in violation of the Constitution & Bill Rights our leaders vowel to uphold.

This would be news if it was the average citizen all you swear will save the day if everyone was armed.. It was a highly trained deputy doing what they were trained to do.

"the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed"

If restrictions were placed, and only some firearms were considered legal to own... the right to keep and bear would not be infringed. It says nothing about unrestricted type. For those so worked up about a phrase from 200 plus years ago, and it's relevantcy today, maybe the type of arms should be limited to those available at the time it was written.

    Muskets and sabers anyone?

    The better coast
We all see how stupid the general public is. Could you imagine them with guns?

Of course they would have to pass tests and get certified, but don't we have to do that for a drivers license as well?

    Double edged sword my friend.

I suppose with "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants"

But I doubt it. Or I could be wrong and I'll see you on the news.
