With your experience and "quals" could you "step over" to working at a hospital full time???

A few family friends have done just that BUT what they did for schooling I do not know....One was just like you, EMT in Boston area ,crazy shifts and now an RN up here at a local hospital...actually enjoys her "Jeep" time now...and a few of the Fire EMT's have crossed over too hospital details instead of other 2nd jobs for that screwy schedule they work..

Takes a "special kind" to work those 2/days on;2 nights/on or pull those 24's....;)....BUT I thank you....we have had to use that "Bus" twice this year and am DAM glad they were there...:)

I have a buddy on the Cape that is a LT Paramedic for the Fire Dept and he went back to school for nursing. His plan is to retire from FD and do the nurse thing to end it

Glad they could help you out! Think I might be done in the health care field for a full time job. I'm kind of sick of having people make their "problems" my problem now. Don't get me wrong, I love helping the really sick people or people who need the help at the moment, but 90% of the time it's these people who think they are entitled to a ride to the hospital for a "boo boo" and I'm supposed to bend over backwards for them during the ride. I could rant on forever about the blatant abuse of the system, both pre-hospital and in hospital, but I won't.

I have toyed with going the Fire Department route as a Medic because of the benefits and pension. I definitely could not go back to a 9-5, five day a week job though. I'm so spoiled with all my days off!

You must have EMT experience now to even apply for "fire" so you may have made your best "Move" without even realizing it ;)....

I am still amazed how quickly the "boys club" has accepted the changes...We have at least 3 engineers "wheeling" our trucks including the Newest Snorkel behemoth....

Only challenge stopping most of us is ourselves..

To rewrite the equation; my truck with the 05 headlights will get an 08 grille with heavy modification so I don't have to change to 06+ headlights in the last picture.

Also thinking of painting it black and having red mesh! That would be kinda cool

Lol youre not ganna let the hardcore thing go huh? Im not stalking dave or anything but he posted this on the "what was your first job?" Thread

Im suprised no one noticed my post in that thread. I had two jobs in highchool, one was a supervisor at the town skatepark, the other was packaging suppositories and hemorrhoid cream at a small pharmaceutical factory, other stuff also but basiclly stuff that went in peoples butts.

The actuall grill looks easy to satoshi, the hard part is going to be around the grill and headligts. Im curiuos to know your plan. Your grill on your 4-runner looks alot harder to satoshi compared to the later generation one. But by the looks of the pictures it might be hard to modify the headlights and the area between the headligts and the grill.

I'm switching for the later generation one. The chrome grille is an 08.

I think I can cut the edge off to fit my older-style 03-05 headlights

Regardless, it'll be a lot of fiberglass work, but I love bodywork, so I don't care :). It'll look bitchin!
