Hey Mike, there is a good Rubicon trail report in 4wd magazine about IFS trucks. I haven't read it all yet, but its good so far.

It would be agonizingly slow and possibly pretty hard. If you can wind that rope up enough that you have to tie the level log (or what ever he called it) down so it doesn't pop back up while you are flipping the logs over, then I imagine it will be pretty fucking hard to get that log to rotate again after you untie.

Painting the dash up like that could be cool... if you have a good color scheme and did the whole interior, but that just looks hideous. haha

Thanks Ben, I really like my interior trim, but I am glad I didn't have to apply it (I hate stick on things) and am surprised none of it is peeling up yet. Would be cool if they made all the dash pieces that you could just swap in, but that would likely be pricey.

Oh yeah, so my wife got a crack in the bottom of her windshield and it was working it's way up so we went in to Jiffy Lube to have them fix it before it got very high up the windshield (they actually did a good job on the one on my car). Well some guy pulls up in a bright yellow Yota Pickup with a lift and what are probably some 33's (actually looked kind of good).

Kind of like this one, maybe a little older

Well he just wanted an oil change. He told them he usually does them himself, but decided it was too fucking cold outside.

Well they told him he has to put synthetic ($83 price tag for a synthetic change there) in it. He said "but that thing is so old, there is no way it needs synthetic". Well apparently he had his transfer case oil changed there so they proceeded to tell him that because they put synthetic in the tcase they need to put synthetic in the engine as well:eek::rolleyes: haha (They didn't say that word for word or even directly say that that was true, but that was certainly implied by what they had told him (I don't remember exactly what they said to him)). He couldn't convince them to use regular oil (not that he tried very hard) so he just said see ya later and left.

I know modern cars say synthetic oil only but is that really even a requirement? haha. It will just be a little less efficient is all and even then will it be noticeably less efficient?

Also, I know you probably won't see this right now Ben, but I can't figure out your bumper! haha. There are some bracket and I see where they attach to the front end and I see where they attach to the bumper but I can't get them to line up right to attach to the bumper...

Either I am just crazy and they actually attach somewhere else on the bumper, or they are going to need some modification I think...

yep remember that guy. Horrible truck. didn't know about the interior though.

also the 4wd Rubicon report was short :pout: It was the same trip Suba went on. There was even a pretty basic tacoma there and the only damage was a broke spider gear in the front diff right at the begining. But it never fully broke and the truck finished the trail! haha

They said they took body damage too but over all was do able but make sure you had lots of spare parts.

Oh..and..they caught up to a group of jeeps..twice..then passed them. The jeep guys were like

"why are you trying to pass us? We will just be faster then you"

"we have caught up to you twice"

"we haven't even done anything hard yet"

    "....."

    lol

    awesome.
