i'd like to mount the compressor under the hood, run an air hose to one of my bed cubbies and install the "male" end of the plug into one of those cubbies so when i want to attach an air hose to it to pump up my tires or run an air tool off of it i dont have to open the hood every time and its easy to get to. hopefully i can figure out how to make that work...

Lol i was actually reading that thread and thought "wow this is kind of confusing i should start reading up on this stuff" so thats why i asked where i should start. I plan on keeping it really basic, i ordered a switch here http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacoma-marketplace/246690-09-switches-blanks.html the OP recomends a relay for anything over 10 amps.
Heres the light i am getting http://www.treklights.com/collections/xt-series-treklight-bars/products/36-inch-treklight-xt the stats are on the page but i dont know what to make of them.
I would like to be able to turn the light on/off independet of other lights, i wouldnt want it to automatically come on with the high beams or fogs or anything. It doesnt have to opperate with the ignition off, basicly looking to go the easiest route wiring it.

Damn man, I could have made you that switch for about $2

Simpliest would be straight from the battery, through an in-line fuse, to the switch to the lights. I would recommend using an Add-a-circuit though to a circuit that's only hot when the ignition is on. That way you can't accidentally leave them on when the truck is off. Just make sure you install the add-a-circuit oriented the correct way otherwise it is ineffective. I can draw you up a diagram when the time comes or, if you're in the area, help you out wiring everything up.

Personally, I prefer to use relays to handle the power. Even though the switch can handle it, I prefer to let the relay handle the power rather than the switch.

EDIT: EVAN, YOU NEED TO USE A RELAY. That light bar draws almost 20 amps.

Do you do the type of trails that require a front locker? I would think the bumper and winch would be more beneficial but that's just me.
