Welcome to TW. Better tires would help. My truck only has ABS, and I have Terra Grappler ATs. My truck does better in the snow than the stock 2012 sport I had for a week with all of those features.

I'm not sure why turning ABS off would help you in the snow, and I know traction control sometimes sucks if you're stuck, but I think you might wanna look at your tires too.

Abs only turns off in 4lo i believe. There is a mod to do the ABS killswitch but i think it is different than the ABS killswitch mod for the trd offroads. I think some guys on this thread have done it so see what they have to say. But better tires makes a world of difference. Wait a second i thought only trd offroads have rsca off button...That means roll sensing curtain airbags, so that isnt ganna do anything for the snow

I have the abs kill switch mod. I find abs a pain in the butt to stop with ABS in the snow and off road. In the snow you'll lock up but it's better then the extended stopping distance with ABS. Seth has it easy with his 02 no abs from the factory.

Welcome! Ive got a 2011 dclb sport as well, and tires do make a big difference. The newer toyota ABS is super sensitive. Problem is, if one tire locks up, like a back tire cause it has no weight over it, the ABS kicks on and you cant stop.

There have been a bunch of threads on it and some people have done a ABS switch. I havent yet and hopefully wont as long as I dont have any major issues.

Read up on this thread if you want.

My regular cab 2wd has the RSCA off switch. My guess is that if I had a small child in the truck it would shut it off like the weight switch on the seat would kill the dash bag

Welcome to TW. Did you hold the traction contol button for more then 5 seconds in nuetral and not moving? The auto lsd light will turn off and you shouldn't have the traction control come on at all.

I probably should have been more clear...I don't want to be yelled at (or beeped at) for swinging the ass end around in the snow on a clear road. (If I was looking for that I would just bring the wife along). These tires do suck. Waiting until they wear out. Then probably do tires, 5100s, and the TSB leaf pack all at once.

Again...the wife. By the time she's done there is not much left for the truck.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my sliders go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
