i actually am not a fan of those. they can hold water, causing the pins and springs to rust prematurely.

it's jsut grease leaking from the u-joint. just toss some more grease in it to make sure it's full and well lubricated. there will be a zerk threaded into the cast joint (the part that looks like an "x"

It was good to meet you Scott. not that it looks any different than a v6, but it was cool to see a 6 lug, 4cy access cab in person. let me know next time you're passing by near me. I have a brand new OEM air filter for the 2.7L sitting in my garage, just taking up space. it's all yours.

thanks colin, it was actually the part where the cover is on, i highlighted it in the pic, i also opened another thread on it, I'm thinking it could actually be just dirt/grease/and water

ah, gotcha. yeah, that's jsut tranny fluid. pretty common for the 2wd trucks. i haven't seen anyone leaking to the point of having an issue though. maybe search for a seal replacement TSB or something. don't worry about such a small leak though.

The ones I'm most worried about are the ones who might be better suited not driving... when they learned to drive the Model A had just come out!

Lol, I cringe every time I see a "Quebec" plate going 15 under the limit here!

Thanks Chris! I really appreciate the leg work in getting me my hitch, thank you! :D

They look similar, but just look at the mag and the size of the bolt group. Much larger than the mini 14, plus I have never seen a mini with the rear marksman style stock with the flip up plate.

after being confused looking for the zerk fitting, so there is no grease fitting on 2wd tacos? does that mean i don't have to maintain it? sorry these all sound like dumb q's, but i have over 100,000 miles and haven't done a lick of maintenance other than religious oil changes, and 3 times a week car washes yea 4wd tacos do have 5

just keep an eye on the joints. if they develop play or start making noise, just replace them with u-joints that have fittings. pretty easy job, or you can have a shop do it. probably only a 20 minute job for a shop to do all of the joints.
