Check for play in the front wheel bearings if the issue persists after the re-adjustment.

That's funny you say that I just got done with doing the re adjustment and I just had a feeling about the front wheel bearing. My old dodge did the same thing, well I grabbed it OMG I don't know how I missed this but it's bad. I def found the problem and ordering new bearing tonight. I didn't hear it because I have mudstars on my truck and they make a lot of racket!

All this for a damn wheel bearing being bad and my buddy's shop didn't even see it. I went and showed him and he was like yep it can make the brakes mess up for sure.

Yup, the rotor pushes the pistons back into the caliper, and it takes a pump or two of the pedal to bring them back out. Glad you got it figgered.

The brakes seem to always work and stop the vehicle but they just go to the floor sometimes/ most of the time.

I had a really bad wheel bearing and I just replaced it, brakes are back to normal! The problem was for sure the bad wheel bearing. I only replaced the front left. The right one was nice and tight!

I just bought my truck a week ago. It seems like I'm having the same problem with the brakes . It stops ok. But it seems like I have to push down too hard on the pedal. Would this be something the dealership has to take care of since I just bought it. It's an 05.

    Sorry for the revival.
So excessive pedal travel could be a sign of a bad wheel bearing?? I didnt really understand the explanation in thread as to why. Along with non properly adjusted drums, air in the lines, and aged brake lines? Or are the last few more for a soft pedal? How do you test for a bad wheel bearing?
Thanks and sorry for so many questions.
