Diesel conversion, help please

    Just a few little things. It's my DD
    I had a friend that had a Chevy with a carburetor 350 and put like 10$ worth of diesel in it. It ran it all out but ran like crap for a while and smelt like diesel for a month afterwards. I asked the same thing about the nozzle being bigger but I guess some pumps are the same size. Didn't hurt the truck tho!

    Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
    They tried to do a Chevy 350 gas to diesel conversion, from the factory. It used the original block. I don't recall what else they changed on it, but it didn't last very long. Chevy engineers took a very long time to understand the pressures involved in a diesel engine.

    Update!

    A guy from work sold me his old tuner from a diesel truck he used to own, said that will fix it up quick. The engine has to be tuned properly before it can use diesel. That was my fault, should have researched it some more.

    I'll also look into some of the suggestions on here (only the serious ones!) and report back on the performance results.

    you need a blinker fluid flush and diesel muffler bearings, should roll coal after that.

    good call. You need a bigger exhaust tip to get the diesel exhaust to flow better. Should make all the difference

    6 inch is way too small!!!! For a good conversion you will need at least a 9 inch. But better be safe and get a 12 incher:cool:
