Thanks guys! If it sells I'll be sad to see it go, I really do love this truck. I'll have another built Yota in the near future so at least there is that! :D

23,000 does sound more in line with the NADA guides value. Though for whatever reason KBB books much lower.

It's not as clean as it looks in pictures naturally. The rear flares could be better, as they are "glued" to the bedsides, and it's not a super clean line unlike the rubber front strips. The 3 dents in the door, and the myriad of "Nevada pin-striping". It is what it is though. I guess if someone were buying this truck they may be more concerned about the features and in what kind of mechanical shape it's in. Which in my eyes is about as good as it gets. So... anyway maybe 23 is about right.

If you were closer John we could just trade wheels, tires, quarter-panels, and bumpers! :D

I have found it is hard to look at KBB for values on tacomas. they hold there value so well dont trust it.
There are first gens that are going all day long for over twice KBB price

Fuck haha. Edmunds gave an even worse value. But like I said Nada was over 20.

I think 23 seems reasonable though, looking around. Going to spend the morning pulling everything out, cleaning, waxing etc... Make it nice and pretty, then take some pictures and post her for sale.

Thanks. I'll be moving farther from Washoe, with no smog regs and I could give a fuck less about the legality of it. But yes, I'll be wanting to swap in a 12v mated to the stock trans. Initially I was looking at 91/92, for the A440F trans, FJ80s but I'd rather have the FZJ80 to DD for a while, so maybe I'll buy another one down the road specifically with the swap in mind and sell the other. Or there is one for SUPER cheap I may pick up and hold on to anyway. ...if the Tacoma sells.

As a child, my dream vehicle was a JEEP Wrangler because Mac Gyver had one. Growing up on bases most of my life all over the place, I had the opportunity to ride in many different vehicles, and crafts. After being in a few Military versions, I decided I liked the way the "H1" rode and that became my dream vehicle.

In my early 20's, I showed up to a car dealership that sold Hummer. I was dropped of by a friend in his grandmothers Cutlass Sierra. We had been working on his house on my day off from work and I had plans to purchase the H1 outright. After finding the one I wanted, (H1 Alpha, Black, Wagon) - I went to the dealership.

I had been saving for many years to buy the one I wanted, worked many odd jobs and put all the coin to bed so to speak. With a Wife, a house, and a child on the way. I had the chance to get what I desired.

At the dealership, they "Pre Qualified" me. Judged before I even opened my mouth. At the time, I sold cars for another dealership and knew the process. But through my training, I never pre qualified my clients and treated everyone as an equal.

All the sales men cleared the floor and wouldn't give me the time of day. Finally I got one of them, asked to test drive the EXACAT vehicle I wanted to buy and got the BS "Sorry, we do not test drive the vehicles here, you buy it first"... I argued with the guy for 20min about it and he would not budge. Finally I got a manager involved, Same sticht. Now they were smirking and sizing me up.

So I walked from the dealership to the nearest ATM, printed out a balance, walked back and tossed it in the managers face. I had enough in there to buy it at sticker, plus all the options I wanted and have a fair balance left. Laughed at them and the look in their face as they were trying to kiss my ass on the way out the door.

Since that day, I had still wanted my dream vehicle but refused to pay a dealership for it after my experience. Then they went belly up... Such is life. Now trying to find one used lightly is a tough thing. Also now that I'm broke, it is still that, a dream.

Now that I am older, I know that the H1 is impractical for MY family of 6. All in all, it is really only a 4 seater in the wagon configuration and that is the only configuration I am interested in. Maybe when my children are older, or if another worthy monster of a vehicle arises I'll have the opportunity again to buy one.

Until then, my Tacoma will do.

On another note, I have always liked the way the axels are all shielded and are individual per wheel. Vs the way the tacomas and every other consumer vehicle is built.
