My maint reqd light came on today

Is it something serious or an idiot light .guess ill take her in to have it checked out.

 

Are you due to a oil change? It comes on automatically around 5k intervals & is easy to turn off using your key, its in the manual, something like turn your key to acc while pressing the odo.

 

Time for an oil change....that's all

 

Yup-It's an idiot light for an Oil Change. Should blink on start up around 4500 miles from last reset and stay on solid at 5K.

And X was right- Turn the truck off, hold the odo reset button down, turn the key to on, watch the tick marks count down, 00000 will flash on the Odo and the light will go out.

 

I just changed my oil to syn .3k miles on the oil since oil change .I did the key thing and dint turn off.

Double check that we told you/you did the procedure right...Cause oil changes are all that light is for. It doesn't mean anything else is wrong. So it's gotta reset.

 

Must be something wrong with mt truck cause it wont blink or reset.Stealership here i come .

 

Make sure the odo readout is on the actual overall mileage and not on trip A or trip B. Then turn the key off, hold the ODO button and turn the key on ACC. I'm pretty sure thats the process. Hold that button till all 0's show up on the odometer.

The process is also in the manual. It took me a while to find it though the first time I looked for it.

 

LOL, oh man if you go to the dealership for your maintanced required light they will either laugh at you, or behind your back, and then charge you $80 to sit in your truck for 30 seconds and reset the light, do yourself a favor and read the manual that came with your vehicle from front to back.

Push button, while holding button in, turn key on.That did the trick.
