    Thought I'd drop in and comment on the LASIK discussion. I had it about a year ago and it's definitely one of the best things I've ever done. One of the best benefits imo is the peace of mind, not being dependent on contacts/glasses in case of an emergency where you might lose them. The surgery isn't painful, just extremely weird and uncomfortable, but the affects are almost immediate. They give you the Valium to calm you down and then so you go home and sleep it off.

    Cons-

    -Where glasses for 2 weeks prior
    -Extremely sensitive to light after surgery for a day
    -Where goggles to sleep for 2 weeks post op
