Do I have to use the clutch after I'm moving?

My friends brother had a 06 with a 6 speed and needed a new clutch after 40,000 miles  im sure it had to do with how he drove it though. The one thing i wish was different was the gearing in reverse, its is to high and backing up a trailer sucks. Some people complain about 1st being to low but i like it

Lol i only do that at really low rpms where it slips in. I dont even know how you would do that trying to race and i assume my truck wouldnt like it so yes you have to use the clutch.

    My Truck is 4500lbs
2nd gen AC is 5350 plus pig weight if you weight it on a scale i can run the power:weight and entire it into the race sim and see 30ft, 60ft, 1/8mile and 1/4 mile times and we could go from there. aka i'll cheat out

Personally, I think that's a problem with the automatics also. The torque convertor makes it easier but it seems like you're burning it up if you have to back a heavy trailer up a hill. I still might end up doing the 2Lo mod to cure it.

It's extremely easy. Do it do it often not at all. But IT IS POSSIBLE even down shifting into first with no clutch but be ready to get on the clutch because you'll almost stall. When racing our Cobra jet 5.0 was the Tremic 6 speed once they are out of first the no clutch shift.

I wish you could do the 2lo mod with the j-shift t-case. But its a no go, just makes it 3wd

I don't like no clutch shifting. I won't do it on my own vehicles.

Try shifting ALL DAY....:p....clutch is used to stop & take off...rest of it is all by "Ear & feel" and we are moving 65,000-105000 lbs..:D

Now granted at the moment I am spoiled by my Allison 6 speed auto BUT when bored I take one of the 8LL's just to keep "the touch"

Has anyone had any issues with their power door locks? When i hit the button on the remote it doesnt always lock. It tries but isnt fully locking. Sometimes the door can be pulled open part way but not fully open

:drool:I went for a ride in a Taco with one as a passenger. It was cool. I think we have enough pony's for our weight. Don't get me wrong, i love more power and i think i would do it if i was a little more skilled in the engine tuning dept. I'm limited to bolt on's/ basic tune up and maintenance stuff. Ordered some roof racks and i have a oem skid coming soon. I need some anchor points in the back. I don't have tow hitch. what are my options besides off-road bumper?
