ok i was wondering if that would come up, have heard mixed reviews about that, is there a certain cloth i should wipe the surface with before i spray? to make sure theres no dust

I dont think the type of cloth really matters. I used some rubbing alcohol and microfiber rags to make sure the surface was nice and clean

ok sounds good about the rags...with regards to the duplicolor paint, every friggen place within an hour of me is sold out of 3l5(radiant red) or is just not stocking it, every other colour is there including barcelona red but nope not radiant red...that was my first choice

I agree with using duplicolor, just get your paint code from the jamb on te driver door. Paintscratch.com makes good color match paints as well but you can get duplicolor color match from places like advance auto parts

Edit: sucks you cant find it, you can always order it online

NAPA mixes paintmatched aerosol cans - I've had decent luck with them. They are also cheaper than paintscratch

Wow, those cans are small! Sorry...
I'll remember that when I decide to paint mine too.
    Thanks.

You can use "tack rags or wipes" available at hardware stores to wipe down befores painting. They are slightly adhesive "tacky" so dust etc adheres to the rag surface. Take your time, surface prep is a major factor in any good paint job.

I'd go with the factory matched type of paint, duplicolor etc and not the krylon. If its not a very good match it will stick out especially once you get it put in the sun. Then you've got a real mess dealing with surface prep with "green" paint and possible incompatibility between the new paint and what you previously applied.

Looks good, how does it look on the truck? Close match? Good call on painting the lip black instead of the same color of the grill, i think it looks so much better that way
