The weak link are the fiberglass bedsides themselves, not the supports or the composite bed.

The Tundra you have pictured is 1) a full metal bed, not composite with bedsides and 2) pulled OEM bedsides, not fiberglass

I'd be very interested in what you come up with. For rear LT I need to mount the pack rack somewhere else, or have a cage with mounting locations for my roof tent.

make something that either goes under the bedsid and attatches to the frame that holds the bedsides up and mount the glass right to it or go over the bedside where they sandwich toghether that goes thru the bed to the frame. like i said can be done pretty easily

If any of you guys have a picture of your 2nd gen without the bedsides on, but with the composite bed still on the frame, can you post them up for me? Particularly from the rear.

Trying to plan something, but won't see my truck for another 4 months.

I'll keep you in the loupe, only issue is I just sent out a deposit to start the build. Will be 2 months before my truck sees the grinder:(. I'm going to do the rear in steeps. So it will be a few months till its totally ready.

    cool.

do you ever see the LT silver DCSB parked in front of Cycle Werks? I see it there sometimes on my way home and have been meaning to post a pic in the spotted thread. Stock rims, TT glass in the rear, I think maybe an Engage kit? Also a sick FJ with Total Chaos LT parked across from Sonny's almost every day too.

I have checked out the FJ and its pretty sick. The silver taco by cycle werks front is all done but I think the rear is still SOA. Ill try to grab a shot and post it in the spotted thread as both trucks look pretty sick!

Do this. Just make a bunch of supports and it will work just fine.

    Will this work?

RJ, I actually have that one, but thanks.

I'm looking at my options to be able to have fiberglass bedsides but have supports built in for a bed rack.

I ordered a roof top tent (and will soon order a Defined LT kit) and right now I plan on using my stock bedsides, but flaring them out. Eventually I want to run fiberglass bedsides, but supporting the bed rack and RTT will be an issue with that. I could always do something off the bed cage but right now I plan on using the stock bedsides and rail system to support it.

I have two weeks when I get home to get the truck ready for a two week camping / wheeling trip. In those first two weeks I plan on:

Replace all bushings in front suspension, replace tie rod heims
    Replace power steering rack
Install 50'' LED bar on roof, 10'' on bumper
    Install defined LT
    Build bed cage
Mount 3'' Fox 2.0 bumps in the rear
    Build bed rack
Relocate battery to bed, build box for battery and recovery tools, rewire everything to the bed.
Mount winch between the frame spars in the rear of the truck, run winch line through bumper and mount fairlead.
    Box frame
Replace front coil springs, moving to 18'' 600 pound springs.
    Mount iPad on dash
build custom dash piece out of kydex plastic, same stuff I have used to make holsters in the past

Basically I'm going to be busy and I'm doing as much planning here as I can, so when I get home hopefully it all goes smoothly.
