Minimal lift for the tires you need is the way to go. This post is good ^

The only thing I disagree with is needing 4" to fit 33s. you can definitely fit 33s with 1-2".

Also, IMO, trimming is not optional. Why not trim and pound a little and have your vehicle clear larger tires rather than mess up all the things mentioned at the end of that post^

Get a leaf pack/aal/zuk(whatever fits you), new shocks/steering stabaliser, 1.5" BJ spacer and adjust the t-bars to comfortable driving. 1.5-2" is plenty unless you're trying to run 37s or something. And if you are and don't know what it takes, go back to the drawing table.

255/85r16s on that lift would be sweet

That'd be my next tire IF there was one that wasn't an MT and did well in snow/ice. Waiting on reviews on the new Cooper offered in this size :D

Good luck! I'm not going to chop this one to pieces because there are so few left. Imagine what it'll be worth when I'm an old fart and pass it along haha

Definitely! I might have one eventually... I'll probably do what you've done and keep it simple.

I had an '89 XtraCab with cranked t-bars. I was running a 31x11.50 Yokohama Muddigger (yes, 11.50). I had to beat the inners pretty good to stop the rubbing.

Google the tire. They were excellent in mud but sucked more than a Dyson in sand.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm really torn at this point. Right now the truck has a cap on it and I'm sitting 2" lower in the back. So, if I put a 2" AAL on the back, I'll be level. The problem is, I was never a big fan of caps. Ironically though, this one looks pretty good on it, and it certainly will be easier to have my dog ride back there then have here tracking mud in the cab.lol

Right now, the truck has 31x10.5 A/T's on it. They are brand new and even though I'd love to go up to a 32" or 33" M/T, I'm not sure it's worth it.

The vibrations associated with a lift certainly are going to play into this. I tried doing an AAL and Bilstein 5100's set at 2.5 on my 2010 Taco and the driveshaft was screaming. Even with axle shims, I couldn't get it to quiet down, so I ended up taking the lift off.

I can tell you that I have just over "3 of lift and when I replace my tires I think I will go down a size from the 285/75s. It really needs to be regeared at that point and they aren't the lightest tire. Add to that I get a little frame rub at full-lock.
