I got my 2001 PreRunner in 2010 and got the itch to start fixing her up and here's the result.

First, was tinted windows: 20% on the sides and 5% on the back
Second, was the dixie horn...the g/f was THRILLED about this one lol
Third, was new tires and wheels: Cooper Discover ATP 31's and 16'' MB Wheels
Next, was to get rid of all the chrome...blacked out the Toyota logos
Next, was blacking out my weathered grey front bumper
Next, was Bilstein 5100's and Eibach's in the front and the ToyTec AAL in the rear
Next, was the deck plate mod
    Next, was the Satoshi grill
Next, was a Black Kobalt Toolbox
Next, was Hella 500's behind the Satoshi
Next, was a new JVC CD/mp3 player
    Next, was the Ultragauge
Next, was the Trail Gear Rock Defense Front Bumper
Next, was the blinker relocation mod

    Next on the list is:

    Convert Hella's to HID's
    Projector HID Headlights
    TG Rear bumper
    Flowmaster exhaust
    Bushwackers
    upgrade to 33's

Nice clean truck. Looks great! I like the black wheels and black badges on that color. How loud are those horns?

Thanks! I think 135dB, but I'd say they're about 2x louder than the stock horn.

Not sure what brand, but I think they're a spin-off the WOLO horns, which are twice as expensive, for the exact same product.

Installation was easy, but took about 2 hrs. I just mounted all the horns to a 2''x10'' piece of plywood and put them on top of the passenger wheel well. I mounted the compressor on the wheel well and just cut the wire from the stock horn and ran it to the compressor. Mostly wiring and drilling.

And, yes, every time I honk it, heads turn lol

Yours looks good, too. I like that plasti-dip job. My front bumper doesn't have any chrome on it, so I don't know if it'd work on my plastic bumper, so I'm just going either the herculiner or just plain black paint route.

Great looking truck, super clean and I'm glad I came across your thread b/c I just picked up a green 2000 Reg Cab 4x4 and plan on doing the exact same mods you have done to yours. I just got the black wheels and tires on today. Plan on taking off the chrome fender flares and blacking out the emblems tonight...did you just use Rustoleum spray paint for that or something similar to black out the emblems and bumper?

Not sure what to do about the rear chrome bumper on mine cause i doubt spraypaint would stick to it. I noticed in the original shot yours had a chrome bumper too, what did you end up doing with that?

I'm hoping to order the 5100's, AAL tomorrow and the Eibachs when they get back in stock. It's nice to see what it'll look like once lifted...cool truck man.

    Thanks, man!

For the emblems, I just sanded down everything really good a few times and sprayed it with black rustoleum and stuck them back on with that 3M automotive tape. There's a thread on here how to do it. BE SURE to sand all the chrome off the emblems or the paint will chip over time. I sanded the hell out of my side emblems and they're great, but my front emblem is chipping, so I have to re do it. Also, put a hair dryer to the emblems to get them off...it melts the glue.

As for the chrome bumper, it's pretty simple, just a lot of sanding and prepping. I haven't done mine, but I've helped a friend do his and it is easy, you just have to sand until it's a rough surface. It's explained in detail here in the comments b/c I had the same questions:

Yeah, that's about a 4 hr drive for me. I've done some riding up around Moccasin and Wildcat Creek...I think they're close to Brasstown Bald.
