    Personally?

Keep the part that connects to the lights and bin the rest.
Buy the FJ switch and harness and build your own harness and you can have an illuminated switch WITH indicator light that fits the dash properly.
The full FJ kit is about $75 with harness... that'll get you the connector for the back of the 6-pin switch.

I've got a wiring diagram for that around somewhere... I'll find it tomorrow evening.

Where do I get the FJ kit? Ebay? Got a link?

It just might work Rich. Not sure about his, but the one that came with my aftermarket did the job right and looks OEM enough in terms of fit.

I don't have daytime running lights on mine, so if you do it might be different.

On mine I need the parking lights on to turn my fogs on. Doesn't matter if the low or high beams are on they never change.

No, I tapped into the parking light wire which is the corner marker light on the headlights. It means your fog lights can be turned on whenever your parking lights are on, the first position on your light switch.

His kit (and switch) look just like the one that I got.
Doesn't fit the opening worth a crap... huge gap at the top/bottom.
Looks bad, and doesn't hold tight.

    Ditto.
Corner parking lights are on with the headlights/taillights.
The DRL are only on when the headlights are OFF, or with the turn signals. You don't want to use the DRL unless you want to use the fogs in the daytime and as a redundant turn signal.
