This is mine with 5100's all around and TSB, front 5100's set at 0.85". Tires are stock size 245/75/16 Michelins primary goal is MPG average 19-21. I use mine for a truck so frequently have 500-800 lbs in the bed and any more lift than 0.85 with TSB looks like nose is up too high. Also a little rake with empty bed help MPG.

 

Does anyone know what is the advantage, if any, of using the front eibach springs (1.6" lift) w/ 5100s set at 0" vs. using the stock springs w/ 5100s set at 1.75" ? I think some of the stuff I came across says that as you increase the preload on the the 5100s, the ride comfort decreases which is subjective, but its really hard to keep track with all the different methods of lifting as there is a lot of misinformation out there! Using the preload on 5100s is basically the same as using a spacer block lift inline with the spring, right?

If there is no real functional advantage aside from have pretty gray springs visible, it makes sense just to preload and save the money on the springs.

 

I'm not sure myself but I think it's mostly for a smoother ride with the eibachs. Mine is set at 1.75 with the factory coils and still rides good imo. It may be just slightly stiffer than stock. I was worried about that when I put them on but was worried for nothing. Ride is close to the same with less body roll. Hell my wife complained about how rough it rode before the 5100's and she even says she can't tell a difference now. Aside from getting in the truck anyway.

But you do have the off road which the coils will ride rougher from my understanding.

 

No vibs here at all and the ride is much improved over stock I'm very pleased with mine. I think the potential for vibs comes in when you raise the rear as you change the pinion angle.

Thanks to this thread I have started down the path to tsb and billies. Today I got my tsb done and tomorrow my bilsteins should be here. I'll post before and after shots. I really like the way the op truck turned out!

 

I know it's too late but you could have waited and put the Billies on first then had the TSB done because they do a front end alignment as part of the TSB...that way you get the alignment for free.

If you haul much with your truck and/or want the rear to sit up a little higher I would say get it while you can. It's free.

 

I thought about that but the guys at my dealership were already kind of hesitant to do the tsb. Also, I don't see on my paper work of the tsb install where it says anything about an alignment. I don't think they did one. I'm taking my truck first thing in the morning for an alignment
