    Trx450 is def not the best...especially the electric start...horrible system by Honda...that said I'd probably get a bike this time around yz250f

    Finally made a purchase. Picked up a 2006 yamaha yfz 450. Paid $2200. 30 mins after i bought it i was learning how to ride. Things got some balls!!

    Quads for the dunes/mud bogging. Dirt bikes for everything else, my opinion. 2 stroke over 4 anyday.

    modern motorcycles and quads with carbs have throttle position sensors and other sensors to regulate the carburation...so either way you have electronics that can fail.

    My '05 CRF250R has just as many wires going into the carb as into a throttle body on an EFI bike.

    The likelihood of an EFI system having a malfunction is very small. Think about it...how often do you have trouble with EFI on your truck??



    And as far as quad VS dirtbike.

    Its like comparing apples and oranges. Quads are good for putting around and relaxing trail rides (unless you fancy sport quads), whereas dirtbikes/motocross is more high intensity.

    Riding a dirtbike [well] requires a much higher skill level than riding a quad.

    And if you have no experience on a dirtbike, the learning curve may be a bit steep depending on what terrain you have to ride on.

    A dirtbike will be safer, because there is less mass to roll over and crush you...but if you are new to both, they can be equally as dangerous.
