Bully Dog Watchdog?

Any One Here Have One of These Or Has Ever Had Any Dealings With One. I Saw It On 'Trucks" Last Weekend Supposedly Increases Your MPG And Monitors A Lot Of Other Things. Any Thoughts?

 

Seems like a Scanguage II with a nicer interface...and it costs about 150 bucks more.

Have you done any research?

Those programmers usually are only offered on diesel trucks and very very few gas engines. I highly doubt they make one for our 4.0L Toyota.

Sounds pretty cool.. Had the scangauge but didn't like it so I returned it. I didn't like the fact that it didnt reset when I filled up and I had to do that manually.

 

It's not a programmer then.... It's similar to the Scangauge.

Hmm, does it have tranny temps? Oil temps? I'll have to check that out.

 

Wow, that thing is $299....

I just got off the phone with BullyDog asking them about the product & the tacoma data availability.

I told him -"I have a similar product that doesn't show transmission temps & oil temps because toyota doesn't allow them access to it"

The guy on the phone doesn't have any way of knowing if the oil temps or tranny temps are available for the tacomas. They don't have a list of vehicles & the data availability.
Note that not all PIDs are available for every Make and Model of vehicle ranging from ‘96 to the newest releases

I'm glad I have the Scangauge. I don't think this thing measures up to the Scangauge especially for what it costs.

 

If it did have tranny temps, I'd probably consider it. Thats the only reason i really wanted the scanguage, at least until I learned that it doesn't have it.... the other options don't mean all that much to me overall
