Out with the old, in with the new. I am now 'officially' a member of the 2nd Generation Tacoma Club as I traded in my 2001 for a 2013 today.

    The old:

Unfortunately, I am now also a member of the 'seriously dorking looking, super high stock truck club' :(

If anyone knows of a certified welder in South Eastern Wisconsin that can fabricate a nice notch for the frame, please PM me. I have the DJM front lowering kit and just ordered lowering blocks from Beefed Taco... but with as crappy as Wisconsin roads are, I'm sure I'm going to need a notch.

So I've been running my 20s up front and I forgot how it feels riding on low profile kindah sucks I feel every bump and yeah haha not digging it so been debating on whether switch up the flow

    Running these
    http://www.aspecwheels.net/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=5657

    http://www.aspecwheels.net/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=5658

18x9.5 +22 235/45/18 would give me more side wall a lil better ride a lil more clearance from rubbing up front and some stretch I want

Or 18x10.5 +22 on 235/45 or 245/45 for a aggressive ass stretch and tuck it all
Plus I'd be able to run same size all around instead of this dayum staggered which limits me and that sucks since I have about -1 degree camber and I daily drive the truck 50+ miles a day

    What u guys think?

Hehe... well, I was set on getting the same wheels you currently have on your truck (Stance) but you beat me to it. Now that you're considering dumping them, I guess their an option again for me :D

Anyway, I like the Varrstoen wheels a lot with my only concern being that it seems like half the members of the X-Runner Underground forums seem to have them. But then again, that's just the limited number of people who are online... I have yet to see a new X-Runner in real life, much less one with Varrstoen wheels.

Note that the Varrstoen wheels are relatively wide at 9.5" and 10.5". If you get a narrower wheel (8.5" or less), that'll likely give you more sidewall, as opposed to a stretched sidewall, which will protect the rim more and provide a little more shock absorption. My Gen 1 Taco had 18" wheels that were 7.5" wide and 245/40/18 tires and I was really happy with the wheels and tires for daily use.

I agree that the 'staggered stance' looks cool, but isn't practical for daily drivers since most of us probably rotate our tires (front to back) to get the maximum life out of them.

Are you considering white, or is that just the color in the link you provided? I personally am not a fan of white wheels, but then again, it's not my truck. For one, it would be a nightmare to keep them clean and dirty white wheels don't look nice. Although I never would've considered the color had I not seen it, I think that bronze on a white truck actually looks really cool (like on this truck).

    My 2 cents.

i love white on white just as i love black on black but on the right vehicle. I think it would look sick! Just gotta wipe them down everyday with a wet rag. then give me the stance for my birthday chehee nah nah my 18's are ruff already cant get more rough.

Yeah haha I love the look of the stance wheels do not get me wrong but for everyday in hawaiis horrible ass roads and cannot rotate and I have -1 degree camber I'll be chewing through tires every year
Haha brah if u can I'd run em on ur truck:D I get a lot of likes on it

Well I kindah want a stretch look but not too crazy I just want more sidewall for softer ride and the stretch I'd do isn't crazy so id still have my rim safe

Yeah I've seen plenty xrunners on them including on of the guys in the club I'm try a join everyone runs the 19s
However I have yet to see a base model like mines on varrstoen besides when Kelsons ran em on his truck for a lil while

I was looking to do white on white try something different I've always been a sucker for gloss black wheels on a white body it's wat I had on my previous trucks but trying something different since all my dayum friends bite me and painted their wheels black hahah

While I'm not happy about this for your sake, you've just confirmed that my decision to have mine stripped and powder coated black was a good idea. To save you a 'click', here's what I posted on the X-Runner forms about my adventure...

So I've decided to go with 18x10.5 =+22mm Varrstoen 2.2.1 in all 4 corners
Tryna have a semi aggressive look while gaining some tire back
I love the look of the 20's but man driving on them lately I wold hate to crack my rim cuz of the shitty roads in Hawaii 245/35/20 are absolutely the skinniest i would go on a tire and dayum they are rough I feel everything
I can't go taller tire due to how low I am i already rub like crazy up front so I'm gonna have to do some trimming

So tire choicing im debating on is either 235/45/18 or 245/45/18
I do want some stretch however not TOO much!
45 series tires should help give a lil better ride though i don't expect stock ride feel but at least better on the bumps and shit our roads have
Also now ill be able to rotate tires since i daily 50+ miles:)
Ill post pics once its all said and done!

If anyone can find pics of 18x10.5 on 245/45 or 235/45 it would be much appreciated!

I like my 255/45 on 18's, the only reason I feel bumps is because my QA1's are stiffened.

Yeah I wanted to run that but more than likely can't ima rub just driving straight but i think even a 245/45/18 make a big difference than my 245/35/20 i have now

Yeah I wish I would've known when I first bought em 2 years ago. $400 you'd think you would get a decent paint job on them :/..they are just taking a beating. Literally not 1 area where paint is not flaking..
