Sup all...I don't really have plans to go off roading w/ my 09 Taco(if anything..it would be very light off roading..nothing hardcore) but really like the look of a lifted Taco. Would I be able to get away with a 3" suspension lift and get bigger tires for normal use? Or would I have to eventually do further upgrades on the shocks, UCAs, etc as well?

You don't HAVE to, but it's highly recommended.

x3. But if you want a full 3" go with a coilover and uca's; you just bought an 2009 Taco, don't skimp on the suspension!

But yes you can just do spacers for lift-looks on the cheap. Many folks report a big decrease in ride quality but some say it rides just fine.

I agree. I have them on my Tundra and they are awesome. I go off the pavement with it but not any wheeling. You will see a difference over a stock TRD. If you go spacer lift and then go off road one time...you will regret it. Billies are an inexpensive way to get a much better ride.

Some folk will tell you to get spacers and bigger tires. For $50 the spacers will accomplish what you want, but in the long run you will be happier with Billy's or Ome's. UCA's if you want. I have the spacers from Fat Bobs Garage and cannot wait until I can out a proper lift under it.

Yes, the big decrease in ride quality is what the sales guy at 4wheelparts mentioned. So if I go w/ the 3" suspension lift, bigger tires, and some bilstein 5100's....would that equal a sexy lift and a smooth ride? Or go further w/ the UCA's & coilovers? I'm just trying to go for the nice lift/smooth ride without going all out on the whole sha-bang. Appreciate all the feedback!

Save some money.... go with 2" lift and save yourself the headaches of having to spend lots of money for that extra 1"

Put some taller & wider tires on - 32x11.50 (or some other metric equivalent) should fit without any problems.

You'll get the look you want without spending too much.

Okay, I got the the lift & everything else on my wish list. One last question. If I get a Flowmaster cat-back exhaust(single in-dual out)...would that have any effect on the lift later on? My guess is that it won't.

No the only thing that would really affect your lift is if you put on some heavy additions like sliders, skidplates, swap to bigger engine, etc.

And even then it subject to the lift you chose

No it won't. I have the Flowmaster 50 series exhaust for my truck and it works out just fine. Only little thing is in the rear, the pipes from the exhaust are kind of close to my AAL's that I installed to lift the rear 2", but thats about it. I'ts pretty much a direct swap out from the stock exhaust and wasy to install.;)

How do you like the 50 series? Also, did you do the single in-dual out exhaust? I'm goin for the 50 series as well. I want it loud but not to the point where I'd irritate my neighbors everytime.

I love the 50 series! Yes, I have the single in dual-outs and it looks awesome! It's not terrible loud though so I 'm not sure it is what you want. I really like it, it has a deep throaty sound to it, not ricey at all!

My truck had the spacers in it when i bought it. It rides like CRAP compared to my bros truck with the OME coils. If i were to do it myself there is no way i would buy the spacers.
