I have a 03 DC with a fiberglass cap and I am going to install a CB in it. My problem is that I can only come up with mounting the antenna on the roof with a magnet mount. I am not crazy about drilling holes in the truck for the mount, but do any of you guys have an idea of where I could mount this?

You could do a sandwich plate on the cap itself. You'd still need to drill two holes. And you'd need to run a grounding cable as you won't find a good place to ground it on the cap.

That is a thought. One of the things that worries me is the height of the antenna on the truck. I have a 3' K40 and I am afraid that when I am in the woods, its going to get beat around by overhead tree branches and such.

I got a flat piece of metal, drilled a hole into it, and mounted it to the metal plate near the tail light. There's just enough room between the tailgate for it to fit.

It looks like one of the door jam mounts might be the ticket. I would just have to check the dimensions.

Has anyone drilled through the side rails of the compsit bed? Would that work?

me too! actually i was searching "cb antenna locations" yesterday and there is one individual that drilled through the side rail. Try searching the above and it will eventually pull up. A couple of good pics
