Everything... and a bag of Cheetos.
This week is the last major stretch of days off that I'm going to have before the Moab trip, so depending on how much progess I make between now and then, and depending on what time you guys want to get together, I may come by.

Tom, re the CB tuning, I'm familiar with how to do it I was just hoping to piggyback on the borrowed SWR meter. If I don't make it to the shakedown meet, I'll either borrow Ripcords (I still have to swing by his house for some forgotten tools), or buy one and do it myself. No biggie.

If you do make it, more than happy to help out. When we did it with Cloudy and SgtTaco, made it so much easier having an extra hand so peeps didn't have to keep hopping in and out of the cab. Although I may be stuck at home waiting for FedEx man.

You can buy the offroad shocks and springs I took off my truck :) and just swap them yourself takes about an hour and a half. If you going to keep the springs and just swap shocks either you can rent a spring compressor and DIY or I'd go to desert rat or 4 wheel parts.

Hola everyone, Been away for a while but back. Got a new DCSB TRD a couple of weeks ago and the madness has already set in. Cap on order, Level 8's and Duratrac's went on yesterday. No issues but I'm looking at some 5100's for just a little more. Any place in town worthwhile or should I just do it myself? Thx

4WheelParts installed my OME lift and Desert Rat installed the 882s when I had the front end redone. Both shops did competent jobs.

4WheelParts was able to supply me with the alignment printout. Desert Rat was not.

After the 882s were installed, I had the truck in for service. Figured I'd have the alignment checked. The passenger side camber was out of spec. Makes me wonder if Desert Rats alignment rack is out of calibration.

I don't recall what 4WheelParts charged me. Desert Rat charged me $70 for the spring install and $100 for the alignment.

This is all very timely information. I'm considering having one of these two shops do some suspension work. Does anybody know of any reputable locations to get an alignment done (other than 4wheelparts or desert rat)?

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Chet's Wheel Alignment is supposed to be the best, they can align lifted or hard to align vehicles, they might charge a little more. They aligned my wife's Subaru Legacy Gt, very clean professional shop.

im having my ome kit installed at desert rat rather than 4wheelparts. honestly anytime i try to do business with 4wheelparts they try to screw me over and are very rude too. 4wheelparts quoted me almost 600 bucks for my install where as desert rat gave me a quote of just over 400 with alignment.

as for getting an alignment after the fact, firestone does lifetime alignments for a one time payment of 160 i think.

Kelly at 4WheelParts knows Toyotas. I think he wheels one. Sal is the mechanic. I've had good experiences with those two guys. Otherwise, I get a sense of indifference when dealing with anyone else there. I stopped going there after Kelly ordered some lug nuts for me and nobody but Kelly knew anything about it.

I haven't tested Desert Rat extensively but I get several guys attempting to help me whenever I walk in. Had the new front coils installed via them, bought a hi-lift, shackles and ARB inflation kit. I lived in Tucson for a good bit and Desert Rat started down that way. Very familiar with their store in Tucson down off of Palo Verde. Good guys and very competent.

I've used Chet's for over 30 years; they're very good. I used to autocross a lot, and they would align my cars the way I wanted them. Both my car & my truck's last alignments were done there.

I've never had Desert Rat align my vehicles, but I bought both my BFG Mud-Terrains & my BFG All-Terrains there, and they did a great job of mounting & balancing them. Friendly & helpful.

Kelly has a TJ that I know of. I usually spoke to him when I was ordering stuff for my YJ. He's a good guy and knows a lot.

Yeah, I thought he was working on an FJ wagon or something. They way he talked he knew plenty about various vehicles, led me to believe he had firsthand experience with a Toyota.

I'm going to check out Chet's. Still haven't got the truck aligned from the UCA install. Since I know the desired numbers, I guess I should stop messing around with shops that say it is too hard.

I installed my Toytec lift about one month ago. Used Firestone out here in Rio Rathole and purchased the lifetime alignment. However, I have used Chet's over the years and believe them to be the best.
