AND then, when reinstalling everything got heated at my old man, and arguing about the torque specs of the bolts ended up, snapping one of the bolts. so had to put in a regular hex head bolt from a hardware store..

 

Sounds like you and I have the same attitude towards the fathers when working. Good thing I don't live close enough to mine. Now, my father in law on the other hand... I can't work with him for long periods of time. The first 3 hours is me trying to get started, and him trying to disect it and measure, and lay out, measure and lay out, measure and lay out... then re-think how it is done. Then after the 3 hours, finally take my advice and do it the way I had proposed!

 

So who was right about the torque specs?

 

I was originally, but for some reason the 2.7L is weird its only 19Ft-Lbs, and then an additional 90º Turn. so settled with 65ft-lbs. I think thats why they loosened to begin with. but sucks how no one had the right bolts. So the fact that I had to put in a hex bolt kinda bothers me.

 

Because you want it to end up sold like the Tacoma when it rubs

Found out Friday one of my best friends is getting divorced after 7 years and two daughters. His wife said all her depression was caused by him. That leaves one person who I have been part of the wedding still married... and he was the one I expected it to not last (my brother). But, the reason for mentioning it is that he may come with me on the drive so he can get away.

That was actually a nice thread start by Monte. Has a lot if information and a well laid out plan. No wonder your summer wheeling trips seem to be a lot of fun. Your wheeling trip threads are well thought out as well but I did not want you to get a swelled head. LOL
