Just got done installing the drivers and passenger bucket seats from a 2009 tacoma into my 2004. A LOT better! :)
I had to do some modification to the old mounting rails and newer seat rails.

I am here to tell you that NONE of the mounting locations/holes line up or will fit the newer 2005 and up seat rail mounting holes.

The new seats sit about 2" taller. It takes a little to get used to after sitting in the old ones for so long but I wouldn't trade them for anything! Unbelievably comfortable!!!

This weekend I will finish my new grill mesh installation and post pics.:D

Got pics of the mods to fit them in? Any more details on the process!

Looks great in those tiny pics anyway.

Nice retrofit and those seats look pretty comfy. I guess it must feel like having a little mix of the best from both gens, very nice! :)

I put seats from a Camry in my 95 some years back. Worked great and were immensely more comfortable. Was able to use the stock seat bracket too.

For the install, I had to take the original mounting rials and with a 90 degree cutoff wheel, I cut off/removed the slider so I was left with a thin strip of metal connecting the front and back mount on the inboard and outboard rails.
Then I took the new seats flipped them upside down and cut off the front and back mount brackets that are riveted to the sliders.
Next, I installed the original rails to the floor, then I set the new seat on top of the rail and sat in the seat to align it properly, making sure I had clearance between the seat and door and the center console.
When doing this make sure the inboard and outboard sliders for the new seat are positioned the same, front to back.
When the seat is in the proper position you will notice that the outboard rail does not line up directly on top, this is not a problem.
I carefully got out without moving it. Once I marked the rails and the mounts I used JB weld and clamps to bond the new seat and sliders to the mounts.

Then I had the seats welded and I cleaned them up, repainted the newly welded metal, installed the plastic coverings.

You will have to use your original seat belt receptacle that mounts to the inside of the seat. You will also have to straighten out the bends some that are in the seat belt bracket so it angles correctly.

Tomorrow I will take better pics and post them.

    New pics just added below!

Hey MLB007 -- what year Camry seats did you put in your '95?
I have a '95 Xtracab 4x4 with the 60/40 split bench and was wondering if Camry seats would bolt in / fit in the Tacoma.

If you want to go a much simpler route I believe there is still a set of bucket seats for sale in the 1st gen marketplace.

Somewhere in Cali too (yes, I know it's a huge state but at least it's not across the country)

Thanks Madjik_Man -- looks like they are the gray ones and I need tan (bummer) however, I might try to work a deal as he is local for me and I'm thinking about doing a recover anyway. Appreciate the info.
