Hey guys... I was looking into different antennas for the tacos, and I came across someone who put a scion antenna on his taco. They're slightly shorter, and it appears it clears the roofline... thereby removing the problem that I have clearing my carport roof.... haha

Just wondering if anyone else has ever done this? I'm about to dump 10 bucks on one. I emailed the guy in this pic and he told me he had to shave a little off the mounting stud to make it tighten down tight.... but he claimed it works fine.

EDIT: I finally got this antenna installed. See my post on page two!

Hey thanks for the offer, I'll keep it in mind. I'd like to keep my reception, I actually listen to the damn radio because its.... well.... FREE lol.... The Scion antenna is a little more 'stylish' and looks like it would still retain 100% function. I'll let you know how it goes, and if all is well, I'll give a writeup. Scion antennas should be easy and cheap to come by... even if it means walking through the wal-mart parking lot! Okay, I don't condone that, I'm sorry.

I have a Scion antenna and have always thought about putting it on. Hows the reception with it?

Well... I was thinking I'd run a FM antenna wire throughout the bed honestly, I wasn't going to completely sacrifice it :)

I should just take the one off my wife's tC.

"Honey, why doesn't my radio work anymore?"

"Well, I don't know, dear. Maybe it's just another in a long list of things that stopped working since you started driving it."

Does anyone know how long of an antenna I should get so that it is the same level as the roof of the cab?

I am too lazy to go out and measure right now.

I have been buying the $8.00 short rubber black antennas from Auto Zone. They work perfectly.

Thats why I bought this one. Look in the picture! Anyways, just so you guys understand.... I decided on a scion antenna because its a little more attractive compared to a blunt stubby rubber floppy thing (IMHO). Those stupid rubber stubbys start getting that rear swept look to them and I hate it.

If I had it my way, the whole damn antenna would be gone ages ago. Wheres that mod... eh? :p
