What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

A dual caliper setup that was more low-profile would allow 15's to clear without hurting braking power I imagine. Would be a pain to install though I bet. haha

 

I built quick releases for my doors. If you've never driven with your doors off you really missing out it's a hell of a lot of fun and you don't waste gas on AC! It's pretty simple to do. Should I do a write up?

 

Did you do quick release pins or just use the bolts?

Yeah, i've heard the same about Duratracs so i figured I'd be better off with KM2's - Then again, i'm really not bent out of shape about it, sh1t happens. That's why you buy the tire warranty

Caliper vs. Rim argument? Who cares. Grind only as much as you need to (and make sure your rim only needs a little bit of clearancing) and move on. I don't disagree that grinding the Rim is also a viable option. To each, his own. Also, i have no clue how this relates to 2nd Gen's so do your own research on that.

There's a shoddy pic with a an arrow pointing to where the rim will leave the mark. Remove only as much as is needed to clear plus mayyyybe 1mm and you'll be fine.

Mine had speakers in the rear!

 

I've heard of jeep people relocating them to the kickpanel or under the dash. I don't see why you couldn't do the same with a little creativity.

 

Ha that's exactly what I was talking about for the kickpanel. Would suck for someone that uses their deadpedal though..

Bought an arb 50qt fridge/freezer today. Will install it tomorrow when it gets here. Should make camping that much more comfortable.

 

Im jealous, I don't think I could fit one of those in my extended cab

 

Debating if im going to make a deck and pull out the back seat or mount it in the bed?...

I have seen the pull out deck you are talking about and that's what I would do but that's just me, because I probably wouldn't move it to often once I have it in place and I help out on the family farm a lot during harvest and wouldn't want to risk ruining the fridge in the bed, but the situation is probably different for you though. It also kinda depends on how many people you drive around and if you always have your topper on all the time because I would think that it would get annoying having to crawl in the bed everytime for a beer or whatever you put in there.
