AR-15 BS Thread

Thanks for the response. The gun store that has it wants $1699 for it. Seemed awfully high for just the gun and nothing else. Every time that I'm in town (Memphis), I always look to see what is available. This one store has at least 50+ AR's in stock from many manufactures. I live in Dallas and I am used to seeing bare shelves all of the time. Like most, I don't want to massively over pay for something. I guess that I will pass on it then.

Watch running lighter buffers, you could start getting bolt bounce.

I'd say you have a small gas port. I'd open it up. I'd aim for .070-.075"

 

Thanks guys! I already have the wolff reduced power buffer spring on order. I read the reviews for that spring and it all seems to be piston guys who short stroke and using these to fix the problem, so my hopes are up. My buffer weight has no markings on it, so Im assuming it's the lightest one. If all else fails, I will take it to a gun smith to evaluate opening up the gas port.

 

Any body know diddley about DI x39 uppers reliability?
I asked on CG and got the standard "buy a AK" response.

Took my girlfriends 14 year old to the range today and we went through 300 rounds...ouch. The little left handed bas*ard shot better than me, I just tell myself his eyes are 25 years newer than mine. I went through all the mags I bought used and they all shot flawlessly. Anyone near Cocoa Beach, Fl B&H Gun Rack has plenty of 223 or 5.56. I think it was .65 per round, not the best but for a fun day at the range, well worth it.

Ive got a brand new barrel im going to put up for sale and have a question. Are there any laws about selling it across state lines? Any states I cant ship it?
Just in case anyone is interested:
Its a daniel defense, carbine, 14.5" with a pinned daniel defense flash hider. I sent it to Adco after i bought it to have it pinned. It has a daniel defense pinned low profile gas block and again, daniel defense proprietary barrel nut, to be used with the lite rail and i think one other type of rail from their company. I have one of their rifles already and was going to build another, but have zero time. I barely have time to shoot the one ive got! Everything is brand new and in perfect condition, you would have to already have a DD rifle rail or plan to use one of their rails.
