Best Power Locks Kit

What is the best power locks kit to put on my reg cab??? looking to do it one of these weekends

I loved my basic option free 05' reg cab. Power looks will be big $$$ and big time. My opinion. (free bump)

 

I haven't heard of anything, but then again I haven't looked. I also have a basic truck.

I would think the factory setup to be as easy as any, if your good with electronics, strip the stuff from a wrecked truck. I would think you would just need the inner door panels, linkages, some wire, and maybe some fuses. . . . .sounds feasible to me but I don't mind having manual locks in a truck I can reach across, in fact, I prefer it that way

I had been planning to convert my last truck, but never got around to it. This seems like a good value, and they their actuators are Swiss made. I don't know if that's a good thing or not, but at least it's not Taiwanese stuff.

The idea of putting factory stuff in after the fact has been discussed on here. Since the regular cabs never came that way, it's questionable whether the parts from an Access cab would fit. The door panels definitely won't fit, so the switches have to be aftermarket anyway.

 

and that model will work with tacoma style locks?

 

As far as I know, yes. If you search around on here there is a good writeup that shows cable style locks on a 2nd gen truck. The kit I linked states it is for cable locks.

I did this a few weeks ago. I did the cable clamp method. Took me all day but I work slow with beer.
Really happy with the results.

I wouldn't waste the money on OEM parts. The OEM actuators are junk. I've had 2 of mine go out, I was able to fix one once and it failed again. Toyota charges $225/ea for them but the failure point is a $2 motor (which is not sold separately as far as I've been able to find).

the wiring looks pretty straight forward, but from the guys that did this, was it really challenging in any way?

If you can install speakers and an amp you can do this.

 

I can do speaker wiring so im good lol, just one more question, how can I get the running lights to blink when I lock/unlock the truck?
