I took my bike off Craigslist, there wasn't much interest. For what it's realistically worth, I'm better off keeping it unless I can find a decent trade. At the moment, I don't ride it very often so it might as well just save a spot in the garage.

What is it? I would love to find a decent dual sport bike but I sort of put my search on hold.

 

It's a 1999 Harley Davidson MT500. It was originally built by the armstrong motorcycle company in England for the British army for the Falklands War. Harley Davidson bought the design and production rights.

Pretty bad ass bike. Only around 550 ever made by HD.

 

I'd rock one. I actually miss the old dual spring setups. Dirt bikes now are too damn tall!

 

At high octane Harley you can get a bike for $3,000.

As much as I like sport bikes, I might try a HD. More comfort for my fucked up back

 

You can't get much of anything decent at a dealership for $3,000 these days, especially around here.

You do realize there are a LOT more options than a sport bike and a Harley, right? For the money (say if you were looking for a cruiser under $5k), I wouldn't get a Harley. I'd go for the cruiser line up from one of the Japanese manufacturers. If you're looking new and with a bigger budget, I'd take a Victory over a Harley.

 

I like the look of the victory's, but I like the Harley sound.

Plus the Harley bobber is fucking awesome. I love the rat rod style. Flat black and red

 

If you like the rat rod style, screw Harley, build up your own.

 

You guys seen that dude from CT who built that bike from scratch I think? Thing came out sick. I cant build or have tools but if get a bike again I would like to go that route. Old bobber style

 

Are you talking about the TW member? He's from Boston and started with an old CX500 but did a ton of work to it.
