This is key. Once it covers everything, you have to put down a few more coats.

Ive thought about getting some of the anthracite stuff and doing my badges that instead of the black. My wheels are grey, might as well have the badges match.

Alright so I am definitely going to dip my stock rims to begin blacking out my ride. I'm wondering if anyone has used the metallic plasti dip? More specifically, the anthracite. Also, what the hell is this glossifier stuff I hear about every now and then? Do I use that on top of the regular matte black dip to add some shine?

Ordered up 4 cans of anthracite and 2 cans of glossifier last night. Do you guys think that will be enough to do all 4 wheels plus my front grill and side badges?

I've considered doing the color match, but I'm still torn. I think I'm going to wait for a month or so and see if the black grows on me.

Also thought about the lower valence but wanted to see how it looked with the off-road lights installed. I've been looking for another pyrite mica with blacked out lower valence but haven't found one yet...

    Thanks for the compliments!

Its should be. I used like 2.5 cans for the wheels and the badges don't take much. The grille took maybe .75 can

I'm sure it is a lot better coverage, but you could get away with 3/4 a can

Anyone have a pic of something they used the Anthracite Plastidip on without any glossifier?

I think this thread is what you're looking for...
    http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-...8511-anthracite-gray-plasti-dip-thoughts.html

I heard that as well. From what I heard, this was to give you a thick enough coat to peel off when you're done.

What I'm wondering is, can you do three coats of anthracite and a couple coats of glossifier? Or does the glossifier not provide the thickness you need?

I need some opinions. I've got a BSP Tacoma and I still have a chrome grill, I was thinking about using some plasti dip on the grill and thinking a different color insead of black for the Toyota emblem and the Tacoma emblems on the doors. What color would you go with? How does black plasti dip look with a black truck? I've only seen I think black and white and lowes. Not sure if autozone or o'reillys have any. If I do the grill, would I need to take if off my truck? How hard is it to take off and will I break anything doing so?

old pic but heres what you get with bsp and plastidip grill. colormatch looks better, end of story. but for a quick mod it looked real good. i have more old pics in my gallery. grill is easy to take off. 2 10mm bolts on top and 2 plastic clips attached to the headlights and lift it out. very simple

Yeah it looks too flat to me... but the OP said it was anthracite. I can take some pre-glossifier pics when I do mine

How long did the wheels take and did you take them off or just tape? Looks good!

Lumpskie, did you get a tracking # yet? The one that dipyourcar sent me on the 26th still hasn't been picked up or processed thru UPS yet. I ordered on the 24th too, so this is kinda bullshit.
