Use this stuff instead of bondo, or at least for your finish coats. You will thank me later

 

Yeah... Can't wait to start playing with fiberglass. Will this work as a stand-in for having to use fiberglass cloth?

 

Framing is fun, especially with a framing gun. The outside is cedar now, most of it original from 1959. The PO painted latex paint over the original oil, so it is pealing everywhere and looks like shit. I am going to have it stripped and vinyled.

No, that is used just like bondo. You would spread it over the fiberglass after it has cured. Be careful with that stuff fiberglass sucks. I wear a full tyvek suit with gloves and a respirator when i work with fiberglass. I actually had all of that on today in a 100 degree hoop house. Holy crap i must have lost 10 pouds of water weight lol

 

Damn that sucks. Cant go wrong with vinyl. Cheap as hell and easy to maintain. I just hate how it looks close up, far away it looks great, and it makes so much sense that i am sure someday when i own a house i will do vinyl even though i am not a fan of how it looks. Not a fan of installing it either haha.

I love the look of natural cedar. It probably comes out to almost 10 times as expensive as vinyl if you factor in labor.

You could just use the plastic you cut off epoxy it in place and bondo the side that shows . That's what I did when I did the sato grill . Easier then messing with fiberglass . And yes you can come by and get it tommorrow .

I really want to do that mod, was gonna buy Mikes kit but fell into a set of sliders. I live in Dover.

Seriously though. I haven't taken apart my headlights yet, but i plan to. Seems like if you take your time, use the write ups and take the advice of others who have done it, they should come out good with no problems. After reading this thread, some people leave them in the oven to long, break tabs, or dont seal them properly
